Las Casas de Ea: Beautiful Garaixe

If we could go back in time to the sixteenth century and stroll through the fields of Euskadi, we would enjoy the sight of numerous raised barns of Garaixes, formerly very common in the villages of the eastern valleys of Vizcaya. The space These outbuildings, called "garaixes" were the traditional village barns, built high on stone stilts to keep the wheat, fruits and meats out of reach of the animals and to provide dry storage. The Garaixe of Astei is built in larch wood, in imitation of the original barn, and is now a cozy cottage of 35 square meters with integrated kitchen and bathroom, perfect for couples who want to enjoy themselves in a unique setting. The barn is lined with oak shelves and walls, and collections of antique plates decorated with scenes of villages and cups with different Basque motives evoke ancient times. The high level bedroom is decorated with artwork of artist and academic Erramun Landa which invites us to discover the cultural heritage of the Basque Country. Underneath the Granary is a very private terrace and sitting room surrounded by trees, which is the perfect place to soak up the sounds and smells of this unspoilt natural enclave. Guest access All the houses are fully equipped. There is a laundry room for the guests with washing machine, clothe-lines and iron table. We have a big and nice garden with 2 shaded pergolas with dining tables for meals outdoors, with hammocks for relaxing and reading in the gardens. There are small and beautiful rabbits hopping across the garden. We also have a great space for games, football, ping pong, pool table ( billar ) , play frog, etc ... Enjoy resting in a rural environment with lovely views. We have a heated swimming pool which is included in the price. The use of the spa and the sauna is 25 € per person, per day. Other things to note There is a magnificent terrace to prolong the long summer evenings with a glass of wine.
