Villa Lokicor - garden, terraces and great views

Villa Lokicor stands in a secluded garden with fruit trees and a large sun terrace with BBQ and great views. The living area is all open plan, ideal for family holiday. Just a short walk to the restaurants/bars in Vernet and the lively square with its entertainment and markets. For those interested in skiing during their stay, the sitting area is equipped with a wood burning stove, great for cosy Winter nights. Lokicor is ideally situated for exploring the mountains and is close enough to the Mediterranean to have days out at the seaside. Sitting on the edge of Vernet les Bains, a lively spa town at the foot of Le Canigou, Villa Lokicor offers a fantastic base for families wishing to enjoy French culture, explore the beautiful surroundings and spend some time together eating al fresco and cooking on the barbecue in the garden. The Villa is situated in a peaceful area on the edge of town and offers glorious views of the surrounding hills and valley from its terrace. Walk 10 minutes and you find yourself in the middle of the lively market town. The town square is surrounded by bars and restaurants and holds small markets two or three times a week, it is also the venue for events arranged by the town throughout July and August both afternoon and evening. Villa Lokicor is a family home on two floors boasting a large terrace and garden. The ground floor has an open plan living space with a well equipped fitted kitchen, a dining area to seat eight people and a snug area separated from the dining area by an ornate wood burning stove. In addition to this large open plan space on the ground floor, there is also an entrance hall, a bath/shower room with separate WC, a sitting room and the master bedroom. Upstairs, there are two twin bedrooms, one with a truckle bed (only suitable for children up to the age of 10) Facilities Indoors All bed linen and towels provided. For lets of 2 weeks or more we would change the linen at your request. Master bedroom: Double bed. Twin bedroom 1: Two single beds Twin bedroom 2: Two single beds and one pull out child's bed (up to the age of 10) Baby: We can supply highchair and cot - please ask for details. Bathroom: One bathroom with bath/shower, hand basin and bidet. WCs: Toilet with wash hand basin (Ground floor and first floor). Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with, free standing cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and dishwasher. Dining area: Table and chairs for up to eight people with wood burning stove. Snug: Three seater sofa and armchair with wood burning stove (shared with dining area). Sitting room: Two three seater sofas with coffee table and TV (for playing DVDs) Garage: (Not used for cars) Washing machine, tumble dryer and two adult bicycles. General: DVD player, MP3 dock, wireless speaker, wireless internet, board games, books, DVDs, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Heating: Electric heating throughout and wood burning stove Wifi: Free unlimited wifi. Facilities Outdoors Terrace: Large terrace with stunning mountain views and dining furniture. Garden: Large private garden with shaded areas, barbecue. Parking: Private parking for one car and parking spaces (on street). Further Details Indoors: Entering the house from the balcony along the front of the villa you are greeted by a spacious entrance hall, from which a set of stairs take you to the first floor where you will find a WC and the two twin rooms with beamed ceilings and walk in wardrobes under the eaves. To the right is the fitted kitchen with French windows back out to the balcony whilst the dining area extends from the kitchen to the back of the villa, here French windows allow access to the garden. At the far end of the dining area is the ornate wood burning stove and beyond that, the snug area. Leading off to the left of the entrance hall is the WC and beyond that the family bathroom. The sitting room with board games, books, DVDs, TV and DVD player, sofas and coffee table is well lit by French windows issuing onto the balcony as well as a window overlooking the garden. Next to the sitting room and accessible from the snug area is the master bedroom with comfortable double bed overlooking the garden. The large terrace enjoys stunning views of the surrounding hills and valley and is conveniently accessed from the kitchen via the balcony running along the front of the house. Beneath the terrace is a large garage (not used for cars). There are two adults bicycles available for use and a washing machine and tumble dryer. As well as the wood burning stove, heating is electric - although in the Summer you will not need heaters! The ground floor is tiled whilst the top floor is carpeted. The stairs are wooden. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of the house, parking area, gardens and terraces. They also have free access to WIFI. Other things to note Electricity will be charged extra at cost from 1st October to 30th April. We supply some wood but extra can be purchased if required.
