Ashokan Rail Trail Inn

Directly across from the Ashokan Rail Trail sits a charming 1890s house with wood trim & stained glass. She has been scared with horrible paint jobs, ugly ceilings, and cracked plaster walls, but bandaids like, fresh paint, refinished floors, updated bed linens heal her wounds as I fix her up slowly. No luxuries here but It’s a clean spacious place to relax after a full day of exploring Catskill Mountains. The space Located directly across from the Ashokan Rail Trail just 2 hours from NYC Overlook Bicycle rental is currently open on-site year round. Try out the new electric bikes and accessories along with snowshoes and fat tire bikes this winter. There is no kitchen, but there are great places to eat a short drive away. There is a mini frig, microwave, hot plate, toaster oven and coffee maker to use downstairs. Village Pizza, Ming Moon Chinese takeout, Olive’s Country Store & Cafe, Veggie Oasis, the Pit Stop, Fruition Chocolate and a Dollar General are even close enough to walk to if you wanted to. There are no luxuries but It’s a clean spacious place to recliner and relax after a full day of skiing/boarding, hiking or biking. The downstairs bedroom has its own full bathroom. Upstairs are four bedrooms that all share the other full bathroom You can play board games, use WiFi, or stream your favorite Netflix shows on the Fire TV in the living room. Use the seating on the front porch if you choose to smoke or vape. There is white noise machine to use. Route 28 is heavily traveled during the day, but settles way down after 9pm. The newer double pane windows upstairs dull much more of the traffic noise for guests who are more sensitive.
