The manager lives locally and is available should you need on site assistance. Coast Highlands is a development on the Mendocino coast founded in 1960, made up of private residences. There are many coastal homes, including ours, tremendous views, and a lot of wildlife and birds. There is very little traffic. While water in the North Coast region is scarce during the drought, the neighborhood has its own well system and a reserve supply. We are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Mendocino, within a 1/2 mile of Russian Gulch State Park (you can walk or jog in), and there are multiple parks within a 30-minute drive. Having a vehicle is essential for getting around the Mendocino coast as ride share and public transportation are practically nonexistent. Nearest car charging is just down the road at the lighthouse parking lot. We encourage you to bring bikes if desired. Two beaches and a state park are within easy biking distance.
