Ocean Beach is a stylish clapboard cottage on the White Sand development in Camber Sands, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. Sleeping four, it’s ideal for couples, small families and dogs too. The real treat is the games room with pool, air hockey, table football and darts. Add a log burner, Nespresso machine and enclosed garden with fire pit and Weber BBQ, and you’ve got a proper seaside stay whatever the weather. The space The house Bedrooms Ocean Beach sleeps four across two lovely bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, while the second bedroom can be set up as twins or zipped together to make a king, which gives you a bit of flexibility whether you’re staying as a family, with friends or as two couples. Bathroom There’s a smart family bathroom with a bath and shower over — ideal for rinsing off after the beach or warming up after a windy walk on the dunes. Kitchen & dining The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for an easy self-catering stay, including oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave and all the usual cookware and essentials. You can eat indoors in the kitchen, or head outside and make the most of the garden on sunnier days. Living space The open-plan lounge is light, comfortable and easy to settle into, with coastal touches, comfy seating and a wood burner for slower evenings in. Outside The enclosed garden is a real little sun trap, with rattan furniture and sun loungers for lazy afternoons, morning coffees or a glass of something nice in the evening. Rye is around 10 minutes by car for cobbled streets, lovely independent shops, pubs and places to eat. You’re also brilliantly placed for windswept walks, kite surfing, Romney Marsh, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and all the fresh-air fun this corner of the coast does so well. Guest access The entire space is yours to enjoy, so please make yourself at home and take full advantage of all the comforts and thoughtful touches we’ve provided. You’ll also find a travel cot, highchair and stair gate at the property, though as with most holiday cottages, children should be supervised at all times. The garden is fully enclosed, which is great for dogs and for sitting out on sunny days. This is very much a lived-in seaside home rather than a hotel, and we kindly ask that it’s treated with the same care and respect you’d give your own place. The area Camber is a small, laid-back seaside village — and that’s exactly why we love it. Facilities are limited, but what it does have is rather special: one truly spectacular stretch of sandy beach (which we suspect is why you’re here), a cracking local pub, and a wonderful restaurant that punches well above its weight. Life here is slow, spacious and peaceful. Think grassy dunes, big skies, salty sea air and proper switch-off time. Evenings are quiet, nights are dark, and the soundtrack is more wind and waves than traffic. If you’re after buzzing nightlife, lots of shops or late-night noise, Camber probably isn’t for you. But if calm, cosy and coastal sounds like your idea of heaven, you’ll feel right at home.
