Description
Kahytten [Danish for ships cabin but also used to describe a fisherman’s retreat] is a cosy and light filled beach house, two minute's walk from the beach in a lovely seaside village with good amenities. Ideal for couple or small family. Well equipped kitchen, central heating and cosy living space. This is a lovely space all year round with beautiful walks on beach and nature reserve. The space Our beloved area has lots to offer winter and summer. The large difference between high and low tide gives a vast expanse of flat firm sand perfect for walks, rounders and especially building amazing sand castles/boats and then watching the tide come in and wash away your hard work. In the winter we recommend a mini break with long walks on the beach and nature reserve, hot chocolates at the infamous Knoops in Rye and dinners out at nearby country pubs before Christmas. In the summer (and indeed all year round) the beach, field, nature reserve, Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, bird watching hides, camber castle and castle waters out on the marshes offer the perfect playground for all ages to explore. Rye, Hastings and surrounding villages are all rich in history, culture, fantastic places to eat and drink and independent shops. We provide the perfect home from home decorated in a simple style which is reminiscent of my Scandinavian upbringing. Cosy and warm with modern central heating. Very well equipped with a comfortable double bed in the main bedroom (135x190cm), luxurious soft towels and 100% cotton bedding. There are built-in single bunk beds (70x190cm) in the children's bedroom with a cute little staircase leading up to the top bunk. We can also provide a travel cot and/or infant cot if you require this. Please note that this property is most suitable for either a couple or a family with two children or three if the youngest will fit in a travel cot. The bunk beds are small singles. Plenty of adults and large kids have slept happily and comfortably in them but this is personal preference and some may find them too small. The newly refurbished bathroom has a shower and a baby/toddler bath but not a proper bathtub. Kahytten is close enough to the beach that you can hear the faint rushing of the waves if you open a window (and the ice-cream van in the summer). A large sideboard is full of toys and craft materials to keep your kids busy and happy. Guest access Guests have their own little garden with seating area and lawn at one end of the cabin. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine in our house if they need.
