- Welcome to our rustic, remodeled cabin: The Nydegger - Dreamy ambient lighting througout the living space to set the ultimate relaxed vibe - Wrap-around deck with a hot tub, gas grill & optimal seating with river views - RARE sandy beach on the river with volleyball net, fire pit & yard games - 3 Bedrooms with sleeping arrangements for up to 7 (perfect for 2 families!) 1 Bathroom | Laundry Room The space Welcome to the Nydegger Cabin by Bowden Cabins. - The cabin is located on a riverfront campground that consists of half cabins and half RV's that stay year-round: the Nydeggar is situated on the most ideal riverfront spot with a vacant lot on one side, our Riverside cabin on the other lot, and the sandy beach with river access in front. - As you approach the cabin, you cross over the railroad tracks that lead you right into downtown Elkins, only a 10 minute drive away: if you take a ride with Mountain Rail, you'll pass right by the cabin! The passings are short & sweet and guests have shared that it's an exciting sighting! - The cabin is well suited for 4-5 vehicles with parking underneath and in front of the cabin. Pro-tip: If you drive a small or midsize vehicle, park underneath the home for shielding from the elements! Arriving at night? No worries, we'll leave the light on for you. - Climb the stairs to the wrap around deck and enter through the the secure, keyless, coded front door. Check-in made easy for hassle-free travel. - The living area is spacious, the couch & recliners are comfy, and the tv is huge. Sit back & relax, or check out the bedrooms. - Three bedrooms that sleep up to 7 - we also offer an air mattress! Each bedroom has a smart tv. - The bathroom is ideally situated between the three bedrooms for easy access for the whole family. - The kitchen is the indoor hangout hub with a rollaway island counter and large sliding glass doors leading to the large deck. - The deck overlooks Shaver's Fork - a part of the Cheat River. The flowing water beckons you to the patio & beach: soak in the tub, grill up some burgers, yoga on the deck, or have a family card game on the picnic table. Take a stroll into the sand and have a volleyball match or a relaxing fire. The possiblities are endless! Bowden Cabins offers a blend of comfort and convenience in the heart of the Appalachia. Come see for yourself! Guest access The entire cabin & grounds pictured are yours to enjoy! This cabin is not secluded. Other things to note Bowden Cabins is conveniently situated in an area near many popular attractions. The Elkins Train Depot which is located in downtown Elkins is a short 10 minute drive from our location. Randolph County has some of the best hiking trails in WV. There is a great family friendly path that is a 5 minute drive from the cabin. It takes you from the Shavers Fork River down into Stuart's Recreation area. For the more experienced hiker Otter Creek Wilderness is located 20 minutes from our cabin and it offers over 40 miles of hiking trails. A map is a necessity for these trails. If you're up for a short drive before your hike then try Gaudineer Scenic Area or Spruce Knob Lake (which is also the highest point in WV). Both of these places are about an hour from our cabin. These are just a few examples of the many trails Randolph County has to offer. Shavers Fork River is located within walking distance from all of our rentals. The Shavers Fork and Cheat rivers offer some of the best trout fishing in WV. Trout fishing starts in January every year. If you're looking to hit the slopes we're located 30 minutes from Canaan Valley Resort and 45 minutes from Snowshoe Mountain resort. Both resorts offer a variety of winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating. If you're interested in visiting some of the beautiful waterfalls in the area, check out Blackwater Falls, Douglas Falls, Albert Falls & Elakala Falls - all less than 1 hour from our location! Bickles Knob Observation tower is a 15 minute drive from our location and the drive there is very beautiful. 360* mountain views. Pro-tip: go at sunset! After an eventful day enjoying the great outdoors you can relax in the hot tub on our private deck or watch the fireflies light up the night sky next to the fire pit. All linens, towels, and dishes are provided. We have a fully stocked kitchen for preparing some of your families favorite meals. If you decide to kick back and spend a day indoors we offer strong Wi-Fi and a variety of board games that your sure to enjoy.
