PLEASE READ ALL INFO BELOW BEFORE BOOKING The space *UPDATE* - We have made some big upgrades to the dome. Now enjoy our world-famous sunsets out on our fabulous new deck!!! New shade cloths added to the exterior of the dome to keep it cooler. We closed down for a few days to make improvements. Added a thicker layer of reflective insulation to the interior of the dome. This will greatly increase the efficiency of both the cooling and heating. We added a second roll-away AC unit and it has made a huge difference in comfort. To properly insulate the tent we had to make the decision to cover up the clear opening in the ceiling. It was causing the dome to overheat in the summer and lose heat in the winter. We travel with our dogs and we allow dogs here. This is a tent, so there can be big temperature swings in the winter from the sun heating the dome in the day to the cold of night. Be prepared to need a sweater/sweatshirt in the dead of winter. We find it comfortable, but if you are not used to cold climates, you may find it chilly. It is a TENT ultimately, and it can be sometimes warm on the hottest summer days & chilly when the temperatures outside fall well below freezing. This is NOT A HOTEL. If it's 10 degrees outside, it will not be 70 degrees in the dome. AC for the summer works great. But again, if it's 95, then the hottest part of the day may be warm inside until the sun goes down. Small kitchenette (not set up for cooking but has a microwave & coffee pot). We suggest getting pizza or other food to-go for meals. The Shell station in Lone Butte has fantastic Tamales! Also beer/wine/liquor. Just 3 miles up the road... Guest access Dedicated parking space for the dome is near our house to the right of the telephone pole. A light will come on as you approach the house. Walk straight ahead where your car is pointed. Lighted path to the dome via solar lights. We have relatively dim lights on the path to the dome on purpose so that the light does not compete with the starlight. We want you to look up. Other things to note During the day, the sun heats things up (same as a camping tent). If you happen to be here on warmer days in the spring/fall/winter, you may want to open the screen on the door (slides up & down with a latch) but we recommend keeping the warmth in during the day. Keep the vent fan on all the time and off in the winter. See notes above & below about the heat. IT can get chilly at night in the winter
