This residence is on the outskirts of historic El Dorado, just minutes by car from Placerville and Apple Hill. Just a few more minutes will take you to Folsom, Truckee, the ski resorts, or into the El Dorado National Forest for hiking and scenery that is unparalleled in the country. If you are looking for a secluded and cozy get-away, where you can unwind and get back in touch with nature, this is the place for you. This suite has been meticulously designed to meet your every need, if you want a quiet place to recharge and be comfortable. Your view, from the large bedroom window or the deck, is very private and is typically broken only by the sight of deer passing through. Amenities such as snacks, bottled water, etc are provided upon your arrival. This property is in the country, so expect normal country noises such as coyotes and frogs singing at night, roosters making their presence known in the early morning, and the occasional six- to eight-legged visitor in your space. There may be animal-related noises early in the morning and sometimes late at night. Dogs out here are guardians as well as pets and may bark in the middle of the night, if they hear or sense anything out of place. It is also not uncommon to be treated to a serenade by a friendly owl in the middle of the night. The suite includes blackout curtains, but ear plugs might be a plus if you like to sleep in until 11a. Parking is outside the suite on a gravel lot. The property is rocky and on sloped hills, so may be difficult for guests with mobility concerns. The public road to the property is narrow at spots, and is used by local ranchers, so please be courteous of your neighbors and pull over as possible to allow the larger vehicles to get by. The host lives in the upstairs residence. The guest suite has a separate entrance from the main residence. The laundry is located on the same floor as your suite but is in another part of the building. Housekeeping and linen changes will be at your request and convenience. I sometimes leave home-cooked treats for my guests. If you have any specific dietary requirements (food allergies, vegan, keto, etc.), please feel free to let me know, if you want, so I will not inadvertently leave you something you can't eat. If you have any questions or need anything, I am available via phone call or text and am typically also present on-site for any emergencies. El Dorado is an historic gold town nestled in El Dorado County. Placerville, a popular tourist destination, is just a few minutes away by car and features a number of unique shops and restaurants, as well as the modern conveniences of box stores and fast food restaurants. Apple Hill is just a few minutes further up the road, and if you prefer winery tours, those are just about half an hour to the south. The residence is at the end of a dead end road, so traffic is almost non-existent, making it a wonderful place for walks/runs. This is a rural neighborhood, with all the positives and negatives that go with that. You will enjoy peace and quiet and will have plenty of opportunities to interact with nature. Crime is pretty much non-existent. "Traffic noise" means you will hear the geese as they pass over on their migration routes. However, most restaurants do not deliver this far and you should plan to drive to access any of the local amenities. Wi-Fi is basic and fine for streaming movies, checking the web, etc, but impractical for high-speed gaming or fast uploads/downloads. Transport is by automobile, although there is some local transit once you get into Placerville. You will be staying on a property that is approximately ten acres, all of which is fenced and cross-fenced. There are many fruit and nut trees, vegetable gardens, and perennial herb beds in production year-round. Please feel free to help yourself to any produce that is in season, and feel free to explore the grounds.
