While you are sitting comfortably with a cup of coffee enjoying the sun in the spacious garden (about 700m2), the geese fly in V-shape to catch their breath in the resting area in the IJsselmeer. The space Two-room cottage, built against a former cow barn (now in use as a storage room), with a spacious garden of about 700 m2. The house is the first recreational house when you cross the Afsluitdijk. The location is unique with views of the Wadden Sea dike and the IJsselmeer less than 100 meters away. Also walk the other way and discover the (fishing) lake hidden among the bushes. Come and relax! There is no TV, there is also no WiFi. There is a record player with records of the Beach Boys, the Mama's and the Papa's and Jefferson Airplane, of course. The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower and infrared sauna. There is no projector with Dolby surround. However, there are binoculars to view the flying geese and swans. There is no outdoor swimming pool. However, there is plenty of space, a fire pit. Guest access Parking is available on your own property in front of the cottage. If you come by public transportation, you can get off the bus at the Zurich junction and walk to the house from there (about 500 meters). Other things to note Complete your stay by grabbing the bike and visiting the nearby places. Like Makkum with its historic center and long sandy beach, or go see the brown fleet in the historic seaport of Harlingen. Also spend a day at Afsluitdijk. Visit the bunkers at the Kazemattenmuseum, enjoy the panoramic views from the monument or see the construction of the fish migration river. History, sports, nature but also (future) energy come together here. You can easily dine out in the area. The Hajé restaurant is about a 500-meter walk away (behind the viaduct). Makkum has a number of excellent restaurants: - It Posthus, Excellent cuisine for an evening of enjoyment, - Strandbar Thuishaven: cozy beach vibe - Strandhuys Makkum, Great food on the beach during the setting sun, - Iterij 't hart: Quick bite, with great shawarma dishes, - Pizzaria La Piccolla: delicious food in a pleasant atmosphere. - and so on.
