At Little Red Hen Cottage, relax & recharge. Outside, walk 20 acres of rolling hills that host an active fruit & vegetable farm or sit by the fire pit & star watch at night. This cottage is an easy drive from multiple vineyards, breweries & hiking trails (including Old Rag) tucked between Culpeper & Madison, Va. Once you're done with exploring for the day, return to all the amenties and comforts of home in a peaceful farm setting. Come and stay awhile at Rare Air Farm! The space This beautiful one room cottage has both a separate full bath with large tiled shower and full laundry room. The kitchen area is complete with a range, a dishwasher, granite counters, full size refrigerator, microwave, Kuerig & gas grill. Plenty of room inside to relax, read or enjoy a meal tableside. Outside, you are free to walk the rolling hills of our active fruit and vegetable farm. Spring brings strawberries and blueberries. Fall brings pumpkins and turning leaves of every color. Come see for yourself. Guest access Upon check in, you will be given a code to open the front gate and turn left once through the gate towards the Barn with Quilt Patterns painted on it. Little Red Hen Cottage is adjacent to the Barn. The front door opens by keyless entry with your code provided at check in. You may park directly in front on the gravel or by the barn. Other things to note This is a working fruit and vegetable farm. As such, the owners may access the barn (adjacent to Little Red Hen Cottage) during your stay but will make every effort to keep any minimal work between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. There are no animals at Rare Air Farm with the exception of Rose our friendly Labrador Retriever. Rare Air also operates active Honey Bee Hives which are visible from the cottage but not available to guests for safety reasons.
