Bring your Kayak or paddleboard this Summer!

If these walls could talk, they'd tell a story of the history of Glenville, NY! Starting as a Broom Corn Farm and then a Speakeasy during Prohibition, the original bar is located in the basement! This renovated New England-style colonial has beautifully landscaped grounds and butts up to the Mohawk River, providing privacy and views. Walking the property not only gives you a bit of exercise but allows you to take in the beautiful views and native foliage. The space As you walk into the front door, you are greeted with original floors and a staircase. The entrance to your oasis is on the left. As you walk through the door, the living and bedroom area is one with a screen for separation and privacy. Over the fireplace, there is a TV that you can view from the couch or the bed. There is a refrigerator, electric stove and oven, and microwave! The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, drinking glasses, wine glasses, silverware, a coffee maker (k-cup). You will even find a selection of teas, coffee, and breakfast bars. Off the kitchen is a large bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower. The bathroom has plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and toilet paper. When you step outside you can walk to the back of the property, the first thing you see is the majestic Mohawk River. There is a small dock you can launch a kayak from, or you can sit and enjoy the serenity of the water. You will find an area to sit and read or enjoy your morning coffee or an evening nightcap. During the summer months, you can watch the boats navigate the river through the lock system! Glenville is located about 10 miles west of Schenectady. Schenectady boasts many fine dining establishments along with Proctor's Theater. Proctor's is a former vaudeville performance house that now is home to some of Broadway's top-selling shows. You will also find some great distilleries, Great Flats, Frog Alley, and Schenectady Distillery. If you are looking for some family-friendly options, you will find MiSci, the Museum of Innovation and Science, and ViaPort Aquarium, both within 10 miles. A short drive into Albany, you will find the State Museum and the USS Slater, a decommissioned destroyer sitting in the Port of Albany. If you want to get in some quality outdoor time and activities, many local scenic trails are available. Across the river is the Erie Canal Bike Trail, great for walking or biking. There is also a boat launch if you enjoy boating. Great Flats hiking trail is about 6 miles away and offers a pleasant 4-mile hike. The Plotter kill Reserve located in nearby Rotterdam has a 3-mile loop with a waterfall. These are a few of the popular and local trails. If you care to venture further out and explore the surrounding areas, we sit at the base of the Adirondack Mountains. Lake George is an hour away and is home to shopping, restaurants, and many outdoor activities. We are a short distance away from the popular hiking spot, Vrooman’s Nose, which is worth the drive. Guest access Guest will have access to the entire property except for the garages Other things to note No smoking No Parties One dog is ok if under 50lbs. If you have more than one dog please email us for confirmation and an additional pet fee will be administered. Maximum Capacity is 4 people (including children) There is one designated parking spot for guests. If additional spots are needed, there is a park and ride 1 mile away that can be utilized. Due to the fact that we are on 3. 5 acres and directly on the water we do attract stink bugs and boxelder bugs but both are harmless.
