Take in the maritime beauty of Tomales Bay from the comfort of this luxury waterfront cottage. Turn the wooden steering wheel on the front door and enter a light-filled living room with high ceilings and sweeping views of the bay. Seals, otters and rays make their way into the bay; at high tide perhaps you'll be lucky and catch a glimpse of a sting ray from the glass window in the living room floor. Our private beach is the perfect spot to go for a swim, or launch your paddleboards and kayaks. The space This place is very special to us, and we enjoy renting it out to travelers like yourself. It’s a perfect place to connect and to celebrate being together, and of course to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of Tomales Bay. We have made so many incredible memories here, and it’s our hope that you will, too. Enjoy the garden hot tub, spectacular views, marine life, and glorious sunsets. Unobstructed views throughout the house with window seats to lounge on or sit on the dock, deck, or private beach to immerse yourself in the scenery. Keyless Entry For more information search TomalesBayCottage online Guest access There is roadside parking for 3 vehicles in front of the house along the fence. Be sure to pick up groceries before your arrival. The Palace Market in Point Reyes Station has a fantastic selection (20 minutes away) and Petaluma has many good grocery store options (35 minutes away). See below for local restaurant options, and be forewarned they often close earlier than you might expect! The gate from the road is unlocked, you do not need a code to come into the yard. You will receive an email with the code for the cottage’s front door - enter it and then turn the ship’s wheel to the right to come in. When you leave, please close the doors and windows and lock the front door by re-entering the same code you entered with. Other things to note Phone There is no cellular service at the Cottage, but if you have wifi calling enabled on your phone, you’ll be able to send and receive calls. If you need cell service, the closest spot is Point Reyes Station. Television There is a flatscreen Samsung frame TV that doubles as art when not in use. The TV remote is on the small shelf below the TV. Music There are 2 wireless Sonos speakers in the kitchen and living room. Using the Sonos App, you can connect your phone/ipad to the speakers. Hot Tub Please shower before getting in (try the outdoor shower!). There is a gate for more privacy when showering. Please set the hot tub to 97 and cover it when not in use. No unattended kids in the hot tub. Cooking Make yourselves at home! We have left basic ingredients (spices, oils, coffee and tea, sugar, salt and pepper, etc) for your use. Poke around in the cupboards and drawers. You'll find everything you need for cooking, dining, and tidying up. Hot pads, cloth napkins, and dish towels are in the lower cupboard left of the fridge. Our Wedgewood stove cooks and bakes wonderfully. We have plenty of knives, cooking utensils, measuring spoons and mixing bowls. You will find nice pots, pans, and baking dishes in the cupboard by the sink. The house is well stocked with plates, glasses, wine glasses, serving bowls, and utensils. There is also a toaster oven and microwave. Coffee and Tea Ahhh coffee! First thing in the morning, sitting on the dock or in the window seat, it is so lovely! We have multiple choices for how to brew your coffee, and if coffee is not your thing there are lots of tea options as well. We have the Moccamaster KBGV Select, coffee filters are provided. The moccamaster synchronizes brew time and temperature and makes fantastic coffee in about five minutes. Groceries: Pick up groceries before arrival, The Palace Market in Point Reyes Station is great or drive into Petaluma for lots of options Kayaking We have a two-person kayak and life jackets for your use. The waters can get choppy and weather conditions change quickly: All water sports including kayaking are at your own risk. It's about a 20 minute paddle to the beach across from the house. Photography Recreational drones are not allowed at our house without exception. It is against the law to fly drones in Point Reyes National Seashore, and it is important to us to preserve the environment for our neighbors and respect their privacy. Otherwise, please feel free to take photographs/videos of the house and the area and share anything you like on social media.
