The home is perfect for families, traveling nurses, and remote workers. **The home is not ideal for those with ambulation (walking) difficulties. If you use a wheelchair, cane, walker, crutches or are a toddler you will find this home challenging to move around in. It's like a little trip to the islands and a perfect way to relax during the warmer Spring, Summer, & Fall months. During the Winter, the game room is the place to be. You will also enjoy the steady warmth of radiant heat and our comfortable leather furniture. We also have a 55" smart TV & Bluetooth Speaker that you can use your streaming services on. No parties! The house is constantly monitored 24/7 by MINUT party detection technology. The system will alert us if the decibels reach house party / kegger party levels. It also alerts us when rental capacity is exceeded or if you are smoking inside the home. When the home is not rented it acts as a burglar alarm. The device is recommended and approved by Airbnb, INC. due to its unique capability to protect property but also protect the guest's privacy and our peaceful neighborhood. Guest access The Hobnobber has off-street parking in the driveway to the right of the house for 3 cars and a parking pad in the rear of the house between the garage and alley for 2 cars. The City of Eau Claire requires one off-street space for each bedroom + 2 extra. We are one of the few houses that supply this and operate in Zoning Code. There's a sidewalk and 3 steps up to the front door where you can enter with a personal security code. Please note, the property is NOT setup for disabled travelers and the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. The stairs from the ground floor to the bedrooms are steep. If you are traveling with a baby or toddler, please be aware there are stairs in the home that cannot be gated off and the home is NOT child proofed! Kids can open cleaning cabinets and outlets are not covered. Other things to note LICENSING: We are fully licensed with the State of Wisconsin, City of Eau Claire (#20252012), and County Health Department. Book with us and rest assured your reservation won't be canceled and your stay will be safe. Moreover, we support our neighborhood by donating a portion of our profits to the Third Ward Neighborhood Association. ALLOWED GUESTS: This historic home is perfect for small families with older kids or friends traveling together. Have some friends come over and catch up. Just remember we only allow a maximum of 6 unregistered visitors during the day. Only the 6 registered guests are allowed after 10 PM. VIDEO SECURITY: We have an outdoor video doorbell on the front door, an outdoor security camera on the side door, and another on the back door of the attached garage. All are exterior, face away from the home, always on 24/7/365, motion activated, and record video & sound. The front doorbell camera faces West to monitor the steps and sidewalk. The side door camera faces West to monitor the steps, sidewalk, and access to the side entrance and attached garage entrance. The back door camera faces South to monitor the backyard path and access to the attached and detached garage entrances. These are to protect the home from burglary and unauthorized access. Please note, we do not actively view the cameras or watch the recordings, who has time for that, but we will pull the files if a problem occurs. There are no indoor cameras, that would be creepy. NOISE, SMOKING, OCCUPANCY, MOTION, TEMPERATURE, & HUMIDITY MONITORING: There are 5 Airbnb approved MINUT devices on site located in the: Living Room Stairwell, Garage Bar, Supply Closet, Boiler Room, and Detached Garage. They are set to go off if anyone enters the home when it is not rented, smokes inside, has more than 12 people on the premises, or makes more than 82 decibels of noise for more than 5 minutes. We do not actively monitor these unless we receive a notification. We do this to ensure that loud parties are immediately shut down. Please have fun but don’t disturbed the neighbors. ACCESS MONITORING: Access to the Supply Closet, Boiler Room, and Detached Garage is prohibited, if you enter these locked areas the MINUT device will notify us. When you use your code on any of the exterior doors or when you open or close the deadbolt, the Schlage Encode system will log the entry or exit. Please note, we do not actively monitor this, who has time for that, but we will pull the logs if a problem occurs.
