The space The heritage of this iconic Cumbrian mill is creatively blended with modern style to create calm and relaxing living spaces. Soft colours and bespoke cast iron radiators contrast with contemporary appliances and clean, uncluttered design. Once illustrated by Alfred Wainwright himself, Mint Mill is not only a piece of Kendal's history but now a unique, comfortable and perfectly located base for all kinds of Lake District adventures, with Lake Windermere only a 20 minute drive away. At the same time, many of our guests come here simply to relax at home, take a stroll from the door, and enjoy precious quality time with family or friends. The accommodation: - 2 large kingsize bedrooms with comfy Simba mattresses and 100% cotton sheets (our guests always ask why they're so comfy!) - 1 single bedroom with a comfy single bed and desk for work or kids' activities - Stunning open plan living area with balcony and dual aspect windows overlooking the river - a haven for birds and wildlife – with a 58” smart TV for rainy days or cosy evenings, a huge U-shaped sofa, and a really special dining area overlooking the river through floor-to-ceiling windows (extendable dining table for 6-8 people). - Contemporary, fully equipped kitchen with NEFF appliances, quality cookware and everything you need to create a special home-from-home occasion or feast! - Large bathroom with modern shower over deep and luxurious freestanding bath, plus free local toiletries from Bath House - Utility room for laundry and drying, with space for muddy boots - Public footpath on your doorstep Guest access Mint Mill has a 'best of both worlds' location, tucked away from the crowds yet only minutes from everything Kendal has to offer. Ample free parking is provided right outside Mint Mill, and this location makes it easy to explore on foot or by car in any direction - into the heart of the Lakes, to the Yorkshire Dales, to the Eden Valley or coast, and of course into Kendal's town centre. Mint Mill is only a 15 minute drive from junction 36 of the M6 motorway, and a 15 minute walk from Kendal train and bus stations. Other things to note While our guests' privacy is our highest priority, we live in the same yard so are able to be on hand when needed. If you require additional services such as locally sourced products in the fridge when you arrive, please contact us as we are more than happy to provide bespoke add-on services and know all the best stuff to enjoy locally :) We welcome children at the property - please ask if you have any questions about suitability. Please consider that although there is modern soundproofing in the building so that normal noise isn't an issue, due to the amazing old structure of stone and wooden beams, loud stamping/children jumping or running does create sound transfer between floors.
