Owned by an outdoor-loving family, complete with hounds and chickens, this is a perfect spot to launch your Maine adventures. On the doorstep of skiing, hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, kayaking,canoeing. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, sightings of eagles, moose, deer, sounds of peepers, woodcock, wild turkey gobbles and whip-o-wills. Enjoy the lifestyle that makes this Vacationland. The space The space is fully furnished, 2 bedrooms, living room, full bath, full kitchen, ranch home. It is a separate home from our home, sharing NO walls and NO shared indoor areas. The living room is comfortable with Roku TV so bring your log-in info so you can stream your favorites. From the living room, you may watch TV or scan the front field for wildlife (binoculars at the ready). The bathroom has a shower, towels and wash cloths, soap, shampoo, cream rinse and body lotion in pump containers and a hairdryer. Also a washer and dryer with detergent and fabric softener available. The kitchen is fully stocked, with a stove, microwave, mixer, toaster, crockpot, coffee making center, tea kettle,large fridge, and freezer. The pantry is stocked with basics, and we have all the kitchen tools to bake some holiday treats to add to your visit. We are a non smoking, non vaping space Guest access When arriving at the home, you will have your own parking spot that can fit two cars that will leave you feet away from the stairs up to the doorway. There is also a place nearby to park trailered recreational vehicles. Responsible guests are invited to use our small spring fed pond located in the front field about 400 yards from guest house. Swim at your on risk and children must be accompanied by an adult. Swim towels are in living room closet. Conditions permitting, pond can be used for ice skating. Mowed walking paths are available on our 40 plus acres. Other things to note We are located in the heart of the Western Maine foothills and the start of the White Mountains, with Mt. Abram Ski resort 20 minutes away, Sunday River Resort 40 minutes away, Black Mt. Ski Area 45 minutes away, and Grafton Notch State Park (Appalachian Trail ) 50 minutes. Access to the beautiful Androscoggin River is 20 minutes. To the south in Oxford is the Oxford Plains Speedway and Oxford Casino, about 25 minutes away. Close by in West Paris is the Rusty Lantern convenience store (pizza, sandwiches), Big Apple (24-hour gas), and Dollar General. For fresh produce Coopers Farmstand is minutes away, also has homemade pies, cookies, fudge etc… Walmart, Hannaford Grocery Store can be found 20 minutes away in Oxford.
