Welcome to the life and adventures of "The Captain". A US Navy and Merchant Captain who retired to Crystal Beach with his two loves; his adoring wife and the ocean! They welcome you to share in their travels around the world. Gifts of love for his wife as well as memoribilia of his life in the US Navy are displayed throughout. The space "The Captain" is just a short walk to the beach. Nearly everything is provided to our guests. All you will need to bring are your personal items. The house is pet and smoke free, however we provide two designated smoking areas outside. The house has a large outside deck for tanning and also a screen porch to escape from the mosquitoes. There is a large picnic area beneath the house with a gas grill, storage area, picnic table, porch swing and long bench for relaxing. There is also an outside shower and sink to wash off shells or anything else. We provide just about everything for our guests to use during their stay, including all towels and bedding, cooking appliances, plenty of closet and dresser space, and laundry detergent for washing clothes. Both bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers. All bedrooms have USB charging stations on each nightstand. We also provide plenty of beach toys and chairs, a beach canopy to escape from the sun and a wagon to get all of these things from the house to the beach and back. You could pay less, but no one offers more! Other things to note House is located in Crystal Beach on the Bolivar Peninsula. Please note, if you plan to travel to Galveston island, allow time to travel across the ferry which is approximately 20 minutes away from the house, however, the wait time to get on the ferry can be anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the time of day. Crystal Beach has lots of restaurants, mini golf, fishing tours & fun activities for the whole family! We provide lots of outdoor games and a gas grill (propane provided-- please remember to turn off after each use). We provide all the essentials inside the home like kcups, a few starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. We also provide hand soap, dish soap, dishwashing soap and laundry pods. We DO NOT provide personal items such as body wash, shampoo and conditioner. A helpful tip, mosquitos can be a bother at times, bring mosquito spray with you just in case! Please read over the general rules of the home to familiarize yourself with our expectations of our guests. These rules are to ensure we maintain a safe and clean environment for all of our guests. Your reservation implies that you agree to these terms and failure to follow them may require additional charges. Thank you. • Arrival time is no earlier than 4:00pm. Check out time is no later than 11:00am on date of departure. These times are to be followed unless otherwise approved by the owners (just ask and we'll try to accommodate your needs). • No smoking in the house or screen porch. Smoking is only allowed on the deck or patio area under the house. Please put cigarette butts in the receptacles, provided. • No pets are allowed on the premises. • Maximum occupancy is 8 people. Any additional people must be pre-approved by the owners prior to final reservation. • Grill downstairs on the patio area only. Grilling on the deck is prohibited and against Galveston County ordinance. • If you go to the beach, please rinse sand off in the sand shower under the house. And/or leave your sandy shoes on the deck by the front door. • Do not flush feminine hygiene products, or anything other than what is expected to be flushed down the toilet, it will damage the septic system. • Do not pour grease down the drains. • Park only on the concrete drive or patio area under the house. Be very careful that you do not hit the pilings with your vehicle. • If something is accidently broken, please notify the owners. (We understand that accidents occur and things can be broken. If this happens, please contact us so we can replace or repair damaged items. However, if damage occurs due to malicious or careless behavior, responsibility for replacement or repairs may be at renters’ expense.) • Please lock front door upon departure. • If renters are asked to leave due to irresponsible and bad behavior, no refund will be given for lost days. • Please keep in mind that this is our home and we ask that you respect it as we would respect yours. • If renter must cancel due to tropical storm/hurricane evacuation requirements, full refund will be given. If renter must evacuate during their stay due to tropical storm/hurricane, they will be credited for all days lost. • The owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises, nor are the owners responsible for loss or damage of personal property of renters. • By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all renters are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. • The beaches at Crystal Beach have no lifeguards on duty. Swimming is at visitor’s own risk.
