Our home Ballykelly House is a period farmhouse dating back to 1629 and set on a 100 acre working Blackcurrant and Horse Breeding Farm in Ireland’s Ancient East. Located only 4 miles from Wexford town on the main Rosslare Road, it’s just 10 minutes from Rosslare Europort. The space Ballykelly House a historic house of County Wexford is surrounded by a beautiful old courtyard and stables. As Ireland’s only commercial blackcurrant farm, yes it is a little different! The house has been in Des’s family since the 1800’s and is a quiet and peaceful place. We love our animals and if you wish you just might meet them! Guest access When staying in our home we’re happy to help out with any needs you may have. Join us in the kitchen for a coffee and we’ll fill you in on all you need to know. Take a stroll with Des for 1 hour around the farm and see the Blackcurrant plantations and meet the donkeys, horses and dogs. Ballykelly Farm is also a wildlife sanctuary, check the bird boxes and hedgehog wood piles around the plantations.
