Cozy Boho Bedroom in Historic Downtown Gastonia

Welcome to your home away from home, a cozy private room in the heart of the charming York Chester District in Gastonia, NC. We hope you will be blessed by our thoughtfully-curated room and enjoy the amenities we have to offer. We love vintage and boho and bring it together in a special eclectic style, not forgoing coziness! Our home is a 2-5 minute drive from downtown Gastonia, and about 25-30 minutes from CLT and 35-40 to Uptown Charlotte. You won't find better rates or comfort at a hotel! The space Our charming home is a 90-year old gem in the Historic York Chester District. Your space is the only downstairs bedroom in the home. It has a queen bed, a chair and two lamps for cozy lighting. We've provided a TV that has Netflix and other watching capabilities (on your own accounts) as well as fun reading options. We provide an extra blanket and pillows. The room has a microwave, a minifridge, and a hot water kettle with French press coffee, flavored instant coffee (promise they're delicious!), cream and sugar, tea, hot chocolate, and oatmeal. Cups, travel cups, mugs, plates and bowls are provided as well. There is a small folding table/desk for working and eating. The hanging plant in the bedroom is a pothos; his name is Hippo. Unfortunately we do not allow fires in the fireplaces, they were designed for coal and are out of commission. The dedicated bathroom down the hall has a luxurious shower, enjoy all 4 features all at once if you like! We provide towels, soaps, and one mini loofah per person. PLEASE let us know if there is anything we can do during your stay to make it feel more like home. We are so excited to host you!! Guest access We are 2-5 minutes from downtown Gastonia which has a small variety of fun dining options as well as a cat café, coffee, and ice cream shops. Downtown is walkable with free parking. We are approx. 25-30 minutes from the airport and 30-40 to Uptown Charlotte (depending on traffic). During your stay The bedroom totally your space but this is a residential home, so you're bound to hear some noise and occasionally see us in passing. You will also most likely meet our dog, Simba, a friendly German Shepherd, and possibly our cat, Maui. Simba loves to make new friends and is sure you're here just to visit him. We prefer communication through text but we are happy to interact or answer any questions if our paths cross! Other things to note This is a residential home, so you will probably hear some noise or run into us in passing, and you will most likely meet our dog, Simba (please be aware if you have dog or cat allergies!), a 4-year-old GSD or Maui, our 3-year-old cat. Both love to play and meet new people. Because we have pets, please be gracious if you find a stray piece of fur that we somehow missed in the cleaning. Many of the features in the home are original, so please be forgiving if something seems a little worn or old and creaky! We are also continuously working to improve our home, but we will let you know if we're in the middle of any big (or noisy) projects that might affect your stay. We have a motion-activated camera at the top of our stairs for our personal security as we do not allow guests upstairs. We may use this camera if we are away from the house. This camera does not capture any portion of the airbnb bedroom, bathroom, or the hallway in between. Your safety and privacy are a priority to us.
