Charming handcrafted shepherd's hut in the heart of Dartmoor National Park, within walking distance of Chagford. The hut is nestled in the corner of our field in a little orchard, with a fire pit, BBQ, hammock and vegetables/herbs for your enjoyment. Inside, there is a log burner, king size pull down bed, stargazing skylight and an en suite bathroom with a compost loo and powerful hot shower. The River Teign runs along the bottom of the field - the perfect spot for a picnic/swim! The space Bespoke handcrafted shepherd's hut with handmade furniture, including a folding oak table and benches which support a pull down king size bed; beautifully crafted oak kitchen complete with a Belfast sink, fridge with freezer compartment, two-ringed gas hob, stove-top kettle, toaster and plenty of storage space for food or other items. When it's cold outside, there's a log burner to cosy up to, a large skylight - perfect for stargazing and ambient lighting which creates a lovely warm atmosphere. The bathroom has a compost loo and a luxurious powerful hot shower. Double stable doors look out onto the field and surrounding hills and your own fully enclosed private garden with wildflowers, a willow igloo, raspberry canes, apple trees and vegetable/herb garden, all for you to enjoy. There are tables and chairs outside as well as a couple of reclining chairs, a hammock, gas BBQ, fire pit (with grill for cooking on) and an outdoor tap/washing line. Next door to the hut are our friendly flock of chickens and a cockerel or two. Guest access Free parking is available on site within metres from the hut. Chagford is a short walk away - about 10 minutes via road and about 30 minutes via a footpath which runs alongside the river. Many footpaths are accessible on foot from the hut as well as the Mill End Hotel which serves delicious Devonshire cream teas and Fingle Bridge / Castle Drogo which can also be accessed on foot via a lovely walk along the river (details of which can be found in the hut manual) or online. Other things to note There are a couple of cockerels in the chicken coupe beside the hut.
