Modatsos stone house

IIn the village of Panormo province of Mylopotamos, in the late 19th century a unique stone house was built from my grandfather George Modatso's . The house has two floors and a loft. It was renovated with respect for local craftsmen, it's history and architecture. Stone, wood, white marbles and glass are the natural materials used to build the house. They create an atmosphere of calm, simplicity, warmth and high aesthetics. The Genoese Pescatore, built in front of the sea, the Castle of Mylopotamos (13 century ) known historically as, Castello di Mylopotamo. The Venetians conquerors of Crete preserve the castle in place until 1583. At this ancient castle's atmosphere with stones and standing walls, the house was built in 1900. The main wall of the house has a 1.80 meters width and is an original part from the ancient castle. In the upper part of the second floor, the wall is 70cm. Its architecture remains the same even today. The house has been renovated , with respect to tradition, aesthetics and history. The house consists of ground floor which includes a kitchen, living room and bathroom with shower. The dining room can accommodate 5 people. The first floor has 1 master bedroom with double bed and wardrobes, children's room with a single hand made antique bed and a wooden wardrobe used by the first occupants of the house and the main bathroom with shower. On the second floor is a loft with a double bed and wardrobes. All the rooms have A/C, and are decorated with simplicity and style. The house is located right in the center of the village, a stone's throw from the beach, market, restaurants and public transport.
