'The Farmhouse' Pennyroyal VIC
Description
The Farmhouse sits on the tranquil hillside of Pennyroyal Valley... 60 acres of beautiful land - with 50 Alpacas just waiting to say hello ! . Perfect for large families or groups who wish to share the same cottage and sit around one big dinner table together. We also have extra cottages should you wish to accommodate more guests separately. We have WiFi but this can also be turned off should you want a weekend away from technology . The space Every season brings something new and beautiful to our property so you're always guaranteed something special. The Farmhouse is incredibly popular with people wishing to find a venue that will accommodate all your guests, feels welcoming and has a sense of character about it. Pennyroyal is located in a beautiful valley nook within the Lorne Hinterland removed from traffic & noise. The natural acoustics are amazing and it’s only the kookaburras in the trees that will disturb you . We like to remind our potential guests that The Mantra is in Lorne for cool, busy & generic stays but Pennyroyal Otways Retreat is for the family or group who wants to escape the city, get back to nature amongst the gum trees, swim in a lake , not worry about a few flies or dusty alpacas and roads. Morning walks are breathtaking as you stroll past the apple orchid, around the lake, chat to the Alpacas and back up to your cottage where your day is just beginning. Children's imaginations abound on our property… with the endless possibilities of open grass fields, taking the boat out on the lakes and feeding the Alpacas … whats not to like! The cottage is rustic and relaxed in style with mostly wooden finishes. Rooms vary in size, have simple furnishings and are void of knick knacks and breakables… so parents can relax. We ensure there are enough modern touches within the cottages so you can relax & put your feet up. Should it be hot there are ceiling fans and air con to keep you cool. We provide fresh white 'fitted sheets' and 'pillowcases' in all the bedrooms . We ask guests at this time to bring their own doonas and towels. All our cottages have open plan kitchens that contain a fit out of matching flatware, cutlery, glassware and other kitchen essentials. There is nothing worse than a cottage full of the owners 2nd hand kitchen supplies !! The Farmhouse has a verandah – perfect for BBQs. Fire Pits are possible outside of the summer months. We can organise this for you and then a fee for a bulk wood dump. Its a favourite of all our guests during the cooler months. Please note there is an air conditioner in kitchen/dining and table fans in bedrooms. There are electric blankets on the Queen beds. There is free to air tv as well as an entertainment system that holds up to 1500 movies/TV shows and music play lists…. There is definitely something for everyone. The Farmhouse has a wonderfully large dining table which is ideal for family dinners and perfect for a celebration meals as it can seat up to 16 people around it. The large expanse of grass below the cottages lends itself perfectly to sports - we have soccer goals, cricket sets or boules etc . Get a game going while onlookers picnic by the lake under the willows. Throw a yabby net in and see what you get. Children and adults alike will enjoy walking amongst our beautiful Alpacas and all the open land in which to explore. Paddle on the lake or take a walk into the neighbouring wilderness. Our three cottages sit on the same hillside at around the same elevation all looking out over the valley. They are separated far enough to allow everyone peace and privacy. Telstra gets great reception but other networks can struggle in the valley. The joy of our property is that no matter what time of year, whatever the weather…. It’s always beautiful. Guest access You are welcome to walk the entire grounds of the property. There is a shared table tennis table and dart board outside The Barn and a Futsal table in our actual cottage. Other things to note Pop your precious suede boots back in the box ... flat shoes, cosy slippers and outdoor boots will be so much more fun when making the most of the property. Gumboots are a gals best friend in winter. Big kids like to splash in puddles too !!
