Near bus, trains, Old Orchard Mall, NU, beaches. Avoid the traffic! Walk, or jump on public transport. Can host 1 couple or up to 3 people in one room; 2nd room available for 2 more guests. Charming art-filled Tudor home, beautiful garden setting. Large private room, queen bed + twin, updated bathroom. Free street parking. Perfect spot for visiting NU, many North Shore sights, local retirement communities. Easy access to trains to city. Great restaurants! Discounts on longer stays. The space Perfect space for a couple, parents with one child, or a single person traveling for business or pleasure. Can accommodate up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child over 5 years. Guest bathroom is for guests only. (Some guests use downstairs half bath as well). You will be on a separate level of our house reserved for guests. We will, however, be in the house as well, and our bedroom and bath are upstairs from the guest rooms. A well behaved dog (40 lbs max) may be welcome, but cannot be left unattended in our home. Pre approval is required for pet stays. No other pets besides approved dogs can be brought into our house. Because of potential cat allergies, cats are not able to stay. The 2nd bed, an IKEA chair bed, is suitable for a child or small adult and must be requested in advance. It is not normally made up unless there is a 3rd person in the room. Guest access Travelers are welcome to watch TV in the sun room or the downstairs family room. There is WiFi in the rooms. There is some space in the fridge in the kitchen, and we can find room for cereal boxes etc. Breakfast can be eaten in the dining room or on the deck in good weather. Other than breakfast, no other meals can be cooked in our kitchen. You can bring in food that's already cooked or just needs to be warmed up, but several past bad experiences have made it impossible for us to allow cooking of other meals. Great Nespresso coffee maker, outdoor fire pit for S’mores. During your stay We are happy to offer transport and sight-seeing advice when we are home. We can recommend good restaurants both locally and in Chicago. We have lived in the area most of our lives, and know where just about everything worth seeing is located. An experienced birder, Nancy has taken fellow birders to her favorite area birding spots. Other things to note We are very close to Old Orchard/Westfield Mall, and also the Presbyterian Homes and Three Crowns retirement communities. It's a short drive to the Chicago Botanic Garden, beautiful in all seasons. We are also a short drive or bus ride to the NU campus and the lakefront, and the beautiful Baha'i Temple. We are close to Evanston Hospital, and not far from trains into Chicago. Parking is free in front of our house.
