Charming 2 bedroom Gîte nestled in a peaceful hamlet surrounded by countryside and woodlands. Unwind and listen to the birds. Or explore the wildlife on show, with hawks, pheasants and even deers. Enjoy zero road noise and a magnificent ceiling of stars in a calm, picturesque setting. Despite being secluded, we're still close to amenities. The local shop is 3km and a supermarket is 10 mins away. You can reach Bordeaux or Atlantic beaches in less than an hour. See our Guide Book for more info. The space This charming Charentaise long house has been renovated to offer guests a modern 2 bedroom accommodation with an abundance of character. The stylish interior complements a rugged and wild outdoors to create this idyllic retreat in the French countryside. The master bedroom benefits from a king size bed. The second room has two single beds and a small desk. Towels and linen are included. On the ground floor we have an open plan kitchen diner with a charming wood-fired log burner. We provide a complimentary basket of wood for your first night's stay. Our house is perched on top of a picturesque valley in Saint Georges des Agouts. The tranquil destination is surrounded by fields, vineyards, and woodlands to explore. A short walk gives you breathtaking views across the Gironde estuary. Despite being nestled in the countryside, you'll be pleased to know the property benefits from high-speed fibre internet. As well as charming views in the area, there is also lots of sightseeing on offer. The estuary, local wildlife, wine tasting and cognac chateaux, cities such as Bordeaux and La Rochelle or atmospheric locations such as Talmont sur Gironde. Guest access Easy access to the gite with parking right at the front. Please note, the gite itself doesn't overlook the valley because it is on the other side of the house. (We also have a glamping dome available on Airbnb, which does overlook the valley and fields, should you wish to wake up to the view) We live just next door so you will be sharing outdoor spaces with our family and pets, including chickens. However, privacy is also provided with your own private garden and terrace which you can enjoy all to yourself. We do allow dogs. If you are bringing your dog please be aware we have free range chickens. The chickens can not enter your private fenced garden, but we ask you to keep the dog on a lead when walking the grounds. Pool: The octagonal pool is 3.6m wide x 1m deep. It's open June-September and is located approx 80m away from the gîte, in a separate part of the property. No dogs allowed to enter the pool . EV charging: The nearest charging station is 10 minutes away in Mirambeau (super U). It is not possible to charge your car at the house. Other things to note Please note: During hunting season (September-March) you may see the 'Chasse' (hunt) in neighbouring woods and fields. Or hear them hunting in the area.
