A converted Barn nestled on an idyllic small farm a short stroll from the beautiful River Fal, Truro, Cornwall. A rural/creekside retreat for couples and small families alike to get away from the busy side of Cornwall and enjoy peace all year round. Perfectly located for walkers/sailors to discover the beauty of the creek and also for days out exploring both Cornish coasts. The space The Old Barn is situated in the heart of Lower Tresithick Farm at the end of a country lane. As soon as you arrive it feels like you have stepped back to a time where children can play freely outside and you can relax and unwind away from the bustle of life . It oozes with rustic charm and is extremely well equipped and comfortable. Many of our returning guests say it is 'home from home'. The accommodation is upside down living so that there is a large open plan, living family space with exposed beams on the first floor. At one end of this big room is the well equipped kitchen with a Rangemaster large electric cooker, gas hob, microwave and every utensil you should need. The comfortable sofas and armchairs are at the other end of the living space and in the centre of the room is a woodburner with a stove top to toast teacakes whilst you warm your toes. There is a sunny deck immediately off this main living space which overlooks the old apple orchard; ideal for morning coffee or sundowners. There are two downstairs bedrooms; a king sized master and a children's room opposite. Both have been equipped with appealing oak furnishings and all of the beds have good quality, pocket sprung mattresses. Please note that the children's bedroom is ideal for one but can sleep two children as it has a single bed with a pull-out underneath that can set up as a second single. The room is very comfortable for one but is snug when the second truckle bed is put up. The property sleeps 4 persons maximum inclusive of children and infants of any age. A travel cot for infants is available on request. The enclosed, private courtyard garden at the back is accessed from the ground floor. We are dog friendly and accept one well behaved dog over the age of 18 months at £30 extra charge. Dog house rules apply. The farm is a walker's paradise, as immediately from the Farm there are three fantastic footpaths leading to the creek, pubs, and countryside beyond. Guest access Please note that there is a bumpy unmade lane down to the property so not suitable for sports cars low to the ground. Also there is a slope to access the lower external door so it is not advised for anyone with mobility problems. Once here, there are numerous beautiful footpaths to explore or you are welcome to pop your wellies on and stroll across the farm. Your children can help collect fresh farm eggs, or feed and move the sheep. You will see that these are lucky, happy animals who have a great life. Farm eggs and lamb are available to buy. Other things to note We are happy to take bookings for less than a week out of season. Please message us to enquire. For high season Summer holidays there is a minimum of 7 nights stay. Logs for the fire, towels and linen are all provided but please bring beach towels for days out in the sand and surf. There is plenty of parking space and dry storage areas should you want to store small boats or bikes.
