Need a private and peaceful home base w/free parking while visiting the Metro DC area? Private back entrance w/keyless entry, security cameras & flood lights. Occasional wildlife from adjoining 42acre wooded park w/gate entry to trails. Centrally located for traveling in the metro D.C. area. Minutes to Capital Beltway (I-495 & I-95) & 20min to Ronald Reagan Washington Airport. 2 miles to Huntington Metro (Yellow Line) or 2.4 miles to King Street-Old Town Metro (Blue/Yellow Line/VRE/Amtrak). The space Maximum occupancy 2 guests. We have one room available but can arrange the bed space (two twins or one king) according to your specific needs. Please let us know which bed arrangement you prefer, otherwise room option 1 will be setup for your stay. Room Option 1 - Two twin beds: (2) Twin standard beds with memory foam mattresses. Room Option 2 - One king bed (1) King sized bed with split/joined memory foam mattresses. Room amenities: Private room with ensuite bath and private entrance. Free Wi-Fi access to Fios Gigabit high speed internet, two rolling laptop tables, 40" Android TV with open ports for connecting personal steaming devices, alarm clock, mini fridge w/freezer, K-cup coffee maker, room safe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, two folding chairs, fold up table, two luggage racks, closet space with hangers, and shelf. One set of fresh towels and bed linens per guest will be provided at the beginning of your stay. A washer and dryer are available for your use if you find it necessary to clean your clothing, towels or linens. Common area (Indoor) for guests/residents only: Adjoining passage doors from private room through garage to common areas of the home. Common areas include kitchen with washer & dryer, eating area and front sitting room. Common area (Outdoor) for guests/residents only: Private room entrance adjoins covered backyard patio. Outside amenities include gas barbeque, patio chairs, patio table with gas firepit in center, & double patio umbrella with table. Guest access SELF CHECK IN & FREE PARKING. There is a private entrance to the room with an ensuite bath so the amount of social interaction can be as much or as little as you desire. I live here and love to meet my guests. I share the home with two family members. We may bump into each other in the common areas when we are venturing to the kitchen or are tending the indoor hydroponic vegetable gardens. If there is any produce ready to be harvested during your stay feel free to pick from our gardens :) We also may meet up occasionally on the patio where we enjoy the wildlife in the mornings with a cup of coffee and a glass of wine in the evenings. During the day we mostly spend our time in private areas of the home such as my office where I work and in our own separate dining/family area. Your private room includes a 4.5cu fridge/freezer for keeping and reheating those leftovers you may want to bring home from an amazing meal you just had at a local restaurant; however, if you’re the type that likes to cook the kitchen is fully stocked with just about any appliance you can think of. We have a dedicated appliance closet just for the pickings. Are you in the mood to make ice cream, no problem! There is an instant pot, bread maker, waffle maker, panini press, and the usual, rice cooker, crock-pot, microwave, toaster oven and blender. Lots of pots and pans, utensils, dishes and glassware available. Oh, and did I mention spices and herbs, plenty of these but if you have a preference, please check with us to make sure we have it before you arrive. Other things to note County of Fairfax Short-Term Lodging (STL) Permit #: "STL-2025-00064" Long Term Stays (30+ Days): Rental agreement will be required. Reservations that are 5 weeks or longer receive a substantial discount. There is a Residential Area Noise Ordinance from 10pm to 7am. For those that may have animal allergies there is one indoor cat we share the home with. She is three legged and friendly but mostly stays in her favorite napping spaces. Guests that have visitors must obtain a 24 hour pre-approval with an additional guest fee for each visitor. Violations can result in immediate guest expulsion.
