Mill Cottage sits in the village of Gosforth in the quieter Western Lake District. Having had a complete renovation it retains its quirky charm with boutique styling. Perfectly placed to enjoy village life but close to popular sites including Muncaster Castle, Scafell, Englands highest mountain, many fells and the stunning Wastwater, the deepest lake. Miles of sand dunes on peaceful beaches are a mere 5 minutes away. Mill is a modern cosy retreat & a great base to enjoy the magic of the Lakes The space Snuggle up in our cosy reading nook with a book, the radio playing and enjoy planning your next walk from one of the Wainwright books, hiking guides or maps provided. TV lovers can relax on our cosy large sofa in front of a roaring fire and enjoy one of the many DVDs or download a movie or their favourite boxset from the 42" SMART TV. A fully equipped sunny conservatory kitchen with feature breakfast bar, under counter fridge and modern AEG ceramic hob with oven makes cooking easy once you've sampled all the delights on the doorstep. We also provide a welcome pack so you can enjoy that all important cuppa when you arrive! After a day on the fells, guests can lay back and unwind with a long soak in the bath or enjoy the walk in power shower with oodles of hot water from the new heating system. A good nights sleep is guaranteed in our comfy beds whether in the main bedroom with its walnut and gold accent styling or the quirky twin attic bedroom with original beams, sandstone feature wall and views towards the fells from the Velux window. Staircase to the attic bedroom may be awkward for those with limited mobility. The South facing fully enclosed courtyard style garden basks in sun all day. Off the kitchen, it has low fencing to one side, a shared pathway across the top and is filled with flowers and shrubs so guests are surrounded by greenery. You can enjoy picking some of the fresh herbs for cooking or fresh mint for a herbal tea. With comfy seating for 4, table & bbq why not enjoy a day relaxing in the garden appreciating its all day sunshine. The utility room at the bottom is a great space to lock away bikes & also houses the freezer, washing machine, cleaning & laundry equipment. With running water & sink its handy for guests with muddy boots. The outside tap & hose is an added bonus for guests bringing bikes, boards etc. Pets accepted (up to 2). Please add at time of booking so we can tweak our space to make your pooch super comfy for their holiday! Guest access Guests have sole use of Mill cottage and the courtyard style garden. The garden can be accessed via the kitchen and also via the rear of the properties through a small wooden side gate at the end of our terrace onto the road. The courtyard style garden is for your sole use . One side has low fencing, the other tall fencing with a shared pathway running along the top. Gates to both sides create a quaint fully enclosed space while maintaining access for our neighbours. All 3 cottages on our little terrace have shared access to the top pathway. Whilst this is not regularly used, the pathway should not be obstructed and the gates kept closed when using the garden. Other things to note I personally clean the cottage so you can be sure that a clean and cosy cottage awaits! A welcome pack including coal, logs and firelighters is provided as well as details on how to get the fire going. We also provide a kitchen welcome pack so you can enjoy that all important cuppa when you arrive. The attic bedroom has a steep staircase and low beams being a traditional Lakeland cottage all adding to its charm. A quirky floating style staircase leads to the 1st floor as shown in photos. There is a shared access pathway g for the 3 cottages - at top of our fully enclosed garden. We do have a strict cancellation policy, being our main business, but will try & help with cancellations due to serious issues/events.
