The space The barn is self contained with its own front door, a modern kitchen, a big picture window dining with incredible views, a secluded patio area and a portable bbq. We've taken every care to retain the barn's character during the conversion, whilst putting your comfort first and trying to be a ecologically friendly as possible, with high insulation levels, LED lighting, and a Biomass heating system powered by wood from our own land. Having been disappointed ourselves when staying on holiday at places with weedy showers and lumpy beds, we've made sure that our showers are the real deal, and the beds are comfortable. There is comfy leather seating, and a TV with FreeSat. There is a double bed on the ground floor and a single bed on the mezzanine level. There is free WiFi. We use Vodafone 3G/4G broadband, which is quicker than the typical rural service. All bed linen and towels are provided for your stay, but please bring your own towels for activities outside the property. We provide a starter pack of essentials like tea, coffee and loo rolls, but we don't replenish these during your stay, so please make sure that you include them in your shopping list. We're proud of our ecological efforts. The barn is underfloor heated throughout and thermostatically controlled by you. All the the lighting is LED. We're conscious of our environmental impact so we're big on re-cycling and we'll ask you to help by using recycling bins we provide. Dedicated parking is for one car, designed not to block your views. A laundry room with a quality washer/dryer is yours to use. We have 42 acres of land that you are free to wander over although grazing animals will restrict access at some times of the year. You must obey Countryside Code, so children must be supervised at all times. There are small areas of deep water and the ground is can be uneven but there's a hill to climb, 4 acres of Ancient Woodland, and a stream by which to play or picnic. Driving, riding, and cycling around here is a real pleasure. We are 300m, less than one minute's drive, from the B4395. The road we are on is single track with passing places. After turning off the B4395, we are the second entrance on the left. If you set your sat nav to our postcode it will direct you past our entrance, so look out for our "Owl House and Tawny Barn" sign. Travel from the the rest of the UK is easy and surprisingly quick. We are 75 mins from J11 of the M6, and within easy reach of the Midlands motorway network. There is mainline rail 11 miles away in Welshpool with direct services to Birmingham New Street and Birmingham Airport. There's also mainline rail 15 miles away at Gobowen with services to Manchester and the North. The nearest town is Llanfyllin, 3 miles away. It's a Georgian market town with: A small Spar supermarket, A greengrocer A butcher A cafe that serves take-away pizza in the evenings A fish and chip shop Several pubs, some that serve food A good , but very small restaurant A veternary practice A community medical centre and minor injuries clinic A pharmacy and convenience shop A launderette Several other shops A small market once a week.
