Description
Our rural retreat is a fabulous, recently renovated barn on an organic farm, with stunning views of the Somerset countryside. It is the perfect weekend getaway and offers every amenity in a luxurious, welcoming environment. The barn is Grade 11 listed and full of character with its original wooden beams, natural brick floor and exposed stone walls. The space The Barn is attached to the Farmhouse and shares a courtyard. There is plenty of parking close by. The views of open countryside down to a lake are stunning, and you may catch a glimpse of the almost tame deer and hares, the red kites and buzzards. The farm is organic and planted with fruit trees; you are welcome to walk through the orchards, fields and woods. There is a private balcony and grass terrace looking over the countryside. The pool is heated via an air source heat pump and is shared with the owner, although she is happy to arrange plenty of time for you to enjoy exclusive use of it . Please note the pool is only available in July and August. Nespresso machine and pods, Bluetooth speaker and i-phone charger are all provided. Netflix and other streaming channels are available on the Smart TV. Sumptuous beds are made up with fluffy down duvets and top quality bedlinen. There are super-king and king bedroom suites at either end of the large airy reception room. There are Cowshed products in the bathrooms, plenty of towels, bath robes and a welcome pack in the kitchen when you arrive, as well as essentials in the cupboards. A wood burner and comfy sofas make this the perfect place to relax in a truly magical setting. Please note that the barn is not suitable for young children. The Barn and farm are run on sustainable principles. Underfloor heating is provided by ground source/heat pump power. Solar panels contribute electricity to our regular mains supply and the swimming pool is heated by solar/air source. There is a reed bed, and some of the wood for the wood-burner and fire pit will be from our woods and hedges. If you come at harvest time there will be plums and apples to sample. The Barn is in the most secluded and beautiful spot, but only 8 minutes drive from a very large Sainsburys on the edge of Frome, and 10 minutes from a local farm shop towards Bruton, as well as a couple of minutes from 2 small supermarkets and a service station in Nunney, a mile away. Babington House (for Soho House members) is under 15 minutes easy drive.
