Stylish converted groom’s lodge set in historic parkland. Totally self contained and newly appointed with fully equipped kitchen (Nespresso machine, hob, oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher). Spacious open plan living area with woodburner. Private patio with table and chairs. Conveniently situated within walking distance of the market town of Cranbrook and 5 minutes drive from Sissinghurst castle and gardens. Leeds, Bodiam and Hever castles, Rye and Camber Sands beach all a short drive. The space Beautifully appointed converted groom’s lodge just one hour by train from London. The lodge is all on one level with no stairs. Your own private front door leads into tiled entrance hall with coat cupboard and bookshelves with books and maps for you to use during your stay. Door to cloakroom with loo, basin and heated towel rail. Another door leads through to the light and spacious open-plan kitchen, sitting and dining area. Fully equipped kitchen with electric hob, oven, large fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso Vertuo Plus machine with milk frother and all the cooking utensils you need to make a delicious meal, together with basics such as salt and pepper, herbs, spices and cooking oil. Plenty of plain white crockery, mugs and glassware (including champagne glasses!) provided to make life easier. Sitting area with woodburner (one generous basket logs provided free of charge), large comfy sofa and two armchairs to snuggle up on while you watch TV (freeview) or one of the dvds provided. Playing cards and board games provided. Large round dining table generously seats four and can also be used as a workspace. Your own private patio (accessed from front door) for al fresco dining. A door leads from the living area to the back hall with a long run of storage space and small utility area housing your own washing machine and tumble dryer (free to use during your stay - starter pot of washing powder provided but bring extra if you think you’ll need to do lots of washing!). Both bedrooms face west so have lovely evening light, room darkening shades, brand new divan beds with award-winning Emma mattresses and 400 thread count white cotton bed linen, bedside tables and good reading lights. Bedroom one has a super king size (6 foot wide) bed, and bedroom two is king size (5 foot wide). The bathroom is conveniently situated off the hall close to both bedrooms and has a large walk-in shower, loo and vanity cupboard with basin. There’s also a second heated towel rail to keep your fluffy towels warm (one hand towel, bath towel and face cloth provided per guest). Soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided as is a starter quantity of toilet rolls. Please note the property is not suitable for babies or children under 12. Guest access Free parking for two cars and self check-in with lockbox available. Personal check-in also available if preferred. The pretty market town of Cranbrook, known as the Capital of the Weald, with its medieval layout of streets is within easy walking distance and has two butchers, a newly refurbished supermarket (Coop) and numerous tea rooms and coffee shops for all your food and drink requirements, together with many charming independent shops for browsing. Visit Cranbrook’s very own historic windmill, the Union Mill, a Grade 1 listed smock mill and the tallest of its kind in the UK. On your walk into Cranbrook, take a tour round the beautiful St Dustan’s church, known as the Cathedral of the Weald. Take your car for a day out to one of the many nearby castles (Sissinghurst, Scotney, Leeds, Hever and Bodiam) and National Trust properties or take a trip to the stunning National Pinetum at Bedgebury which also has a network of mountain bike trails. The coast is just a 40 minute scenic drive away with the famous golden sands and dunes at Camber and neighbouring town of Rye with its historic medieval streets, charming pubs, restaurants and antique shops. Take a tour round one of the local vineyards (eg Chapel Down, Hush Heath) and sample some of Kent’s award winning wines. Other things to note The lodge is situated on our property and is above our garages but is completely self-contained and detached with no shared facilities. We are available if you need help or advice during your stay but the space is your own to enjoy in complete privacy. PLEASE NOTE THE ACCOMMODATION IS ALL ON ONE LEVEL (NO STAIRS) WITH JUST A COUPLE OF STEPS OUTSIDE LEADING ONTO THE PATIO.
