Description
Enjoy the "Lost Sierra" - the wild side of California's iconic Sierra Nevada mountains. At just below 5,700' elevation, pristine and private snow play is just steps out the door (or the perfect excuse to enjoy from inside with a book or puzzle). Make yourself at home in this beautiful, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin with panoramic deck views. Kitchen has everything needed for a perfect getaway. Only 60 mins from Tahoe/Truckee, or 45 mins from Reno. Hosts live just up the street + available 24/7. The space This Chalet-style cabin was lovingly built by previous owners, a Carson City builder, in 2003, and cherished for years by their family. All 1,275 sq ft are built from the ground up with a sharp eye for beautiful building details, with the goal to create a relaxing and secluded place to bond with family & friends against the stunning backdrop of Beckwourth Peak, Smith Peak, and the Plumas National Forest. First bedroom and bathroom are located on the main floor - no stairs necessary! Second bedroom and bathroom upstairs provide privacy and separation. Loft area has a desk work space to send off emails without missing the action in the main area below. Custom kitchen has everything you need, whether it's breakfast on the go, snacking thru the day and making pack lunches, or staying in for dinner. Fully automatic espresso machine/cappucino maker will have you sipping on coffee while watching the sunrise in moments. Pantry and fridge are stocked with all the basics in case you forget anything. Although wifi access is currently limited to light browsing, guests can still entertain themselves with TVs equipped with HDMI cables in each bedroom, and a TV with collection of DVDs/XBox games in the living room. Guests are welcome to walk up the street to Cull Castle to use the 250mb fiber optic wifi, but there's plenty of board, card, and table top games to unplug with. Enjoy panoramic views of wildlife and weather from the large deck with gas fire pit and grill, or admire from inside thru the windowed south wall. Guests are welcome to come explore the rest of the Cull Castle property, accessible by trails created by Cris & Lynda and bordered by an "ephemeral" creek, and Plumas National Forest. Find us on social media (Insta, Twiter, FB) in the mean time and get an idea of what it looks like up here currently: @CullCastle, or on our website, cullcastle .com. Looking for something a little smaller or pet-friendly? Check out our other listing up the street in Cull Castle: airbnb .com/h/cull-castle Guest access As this is a rural area with little to no other transit options, guests are strongly recommended to have their own vehicle. Please let us know in advance if there will be more than 1 vehicle; there is limited parking directly in front of the house. Other things to note Unfortunately we are not able to make exceptions to the cancellation and refund policy, particularly for weather. If this is of concern, we highly recommend travel insurance. There is no Wifi at this listing. Most guests get excellent phone signal, and there is Wifi available at Cull Castle. Movement of furniture may resort in full or partial forfeiture of security deposit. Hosts may access the basement (thru separate exterior door) during the day. Thanks!
