Just minutes from Betws-y-Coed, it’s ideal for climbing Snowdon, visiting Zip World, or relaxing after adventures at Plas y Brenin. Enjoy peaceful surroundings, scenic drives and all the charm of a true Welsh retreat. The space Welcome to Gorphwysfa – a cosy, detached 2-bedroom stone cottage built in 1820 and thoughtfully modernised while retaining its original charm. Set in the heart of Snowdonia, it’s the perfect base for walking, climbing and exploring the National Park. Bedrooms • Ground floor: King-size double with open wardrobe, mirror, dressing table and hairdryer. • First floor: Twin room with Velux window and blackout blind (can be made up as a double). The snug landing outside offers a quiet reading spot. Accessed by a space-saving staircase, so not ideal for young children or those with limited mobility. Living area Relax in front of the log burner on the Harris Tweed sofa, with soft wool blankets, a 43” Smart TV, and a selection of cards and games for cosy evenings in. Dining & kitchen A dining table comfortably seats four. The compact kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including an induction hob, oven, microwave, Nespresso machine, milk frother and kettle. Tea and coffee are provided. Bathroom The spacious ground-floor shower room features a walk-in power shower, heated towel rail, and luxury toiletries. Outside To the rear is an open yard with access to the driveway. Above the cottage sits a private mezzanine deck carved into the mountainside - a sunny hideaway reached by ladder (use with care). Parking One parking space is available on site. Permission to use Cobdens Hotel car park (100m away) for larger vehicles or extra guests is available on request (free of charge!) EV charging only by prior agreement. Guest access The cottage is entirely self-contained — you’ll have full, private access to the whole property throughout your stay. Entry is via a secure smart lock, with a unique access code issued before arrival and valid for the duration of your stay. One parking space is available directly outside the cottage. For larger vehicles or additional cars, complimentary parking is provided at Cobdens Hotel, just 100 metres down the road. Other things to note As well as the log burner, the cottage is fitted with smart electric heaters to maintain a comfortable temperature. Kindling and firewood (often eco coffee logs) are provided to get you started. You’ll have fast, unlimited satellite Wi-Fi and a Smart TV with all major apps - Netflix, Prime, Apple TV, iPlayer and more. Please remember to sign out of your accounts before checking out. The kitchen includes a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine (classic pods), milk frother, and all the essentials - oven, grill, hob, microwave, toaster, slow cooker and fridge (no freezer). Towels, toiletries, tea, coffee and sugar are supplied - just bring milk. A few board and card games are also provided for relaxed evenings in by the fire.
