It is next door to our family home and we are happy to help in any way to make you feel welcome. A welcome pack of bread, butter, milk and flapjacks will be left for your arrival, along with tea and coffee. Perfect for anyone working in the Manchester/Warrington/Liverpool area due to peaceful location, good motorway access and plentiful nearby amenities. Ideal also for those traveling to enjoy the surrounding Cheshire countryside, or wanting some more space whilst visiting family in the surrounding area. (The cottage itself does not have a garden, but if you have children who would like to play outside in our garden next door, we can arrange access for pre-arranged times) The cottage has been updated in March 2023: 1. The previous shower over a high level bath was awkward to climb into, so this has now been converted to a floor-level walk-in shower. 2. Following feedback from families staying for longer periods asking for laundry facilities, we have now additionally installed a combined washing machine and tumble dryer in the kitchen. 3. Following feedback that the old fridge/freezer was noisy for guests staying on the sofabeds downstairs, we have now replaced this with a new silent fridge freezer. Guest access We would like your stay to be as stress-free as possible and have a number of extras available for those traveling with children. We know how difficult it can be to transport all the extra equipment! By prior request we can arrange the following: - Access (by prior arrangement only) for children to play in our secure gated garden next door, including large climbing frame/cargo net/climbing wall/tube slide (see photographs) - Travel cot and mattress - High chair - Stairgate - Baby bath seat - Steriliser for baby bottles - Children's plates/bowels/cutlery (Children must be supervised at all times if using the climbing frame. This is situated next to a pond which is covered with a secure Ofsted-approved pond safety grid installed just under the surface to prevent children from falling in, however supervision is still required) There is also a children's playground 5 minute's walk from the cottage. If you have any other requests get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you. Other things to note 1) The property is unfortunately not suitable for anyone with reduced mobility as there is a steep flight of stairs 2) I personally think it would be a very tight squeeze to fit 8 people into the cottage - it would involve three couples sharing double sofabeds (which are the usual small doubles) plus eight people sharing one small bathroom. However, I’ve left the listing as suitable for up to 8 people, as I’ve had several groups of 8 adults who said they were perfectly happy sharing. I’m happy to host your larger group if you don’t mind sharing the space!
