Welcome to Turtles Landing at River Haven; a dome on 322 acres; only 9 miles North of Menomonie, 75 miles from the Twin Cities, & a 40 minute drive from Eau Claire, but a world apart. Come retreat in Owls Oasis, one of the private rooms (or ask about renting the whole dome.) Inside, common areas include a library, sauna, gym, baths & kitchen. Outside, explore hiking or snowshoeing on 11+ miles of trails in & around the forest & Hay River, or stay warm next to a campfire under the starry sky The space Upon entering the 3-story monolithic dome, you'll be instantly bathed in natural light. Up the stairs, you'll find Owls Oasis, 1 of 5 private bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Make way up the stair ladder in your room that leads up to a loft with an additional room and separate closet. (The loft can fit up to 2 twin cots made available upon request for additional $20 each, making it suitable for a group of friends, two couples, or small families.) 5 bathrooms are located separately from the room on the 1st floor. There are other private rooms available on Airbnb to rent inside the dome. That said, you may occasionally see others in the common areas, although there are a few cozy nooks available if you prefer more privacy. The common areas include space to hang out... go in the sauna, utilize the exercise equipment, play the piano or other instruments, take out a yoga mat or meditation cushion, play board games and puzzles, or relax with one of the books from the library. Outside includes hiking trails through forest, fields and along the river, along with a campfire and a few benches, picnic tables and chairs. During your stay For check-in, we'll give you a code to check yourself in anytime after 3pm. While you're here, we hope this space becomes your private oasis. Be sure to open the curtains or sliding glass door if weather permits to enjoy the incredible views from the wrap around deck during your stay! You may very well see the blue jays or family of deer galloping around. Please note: the balcony is accessible for all guests to enjoy, and it wraps around half of the dome and has one additional sliding glass door on the other side with a room that's also available to book. There are 4 other rooms on the second & third floor being rented in Turtles Landing too. Therefore, it can be common to see or hear fellow explorers & dreamers throughout a days time. Other things to note As a retreat style Airbnb, we're a bit off the beaten path in a rural area with no streetlights. We highly recommend you arrive before dark if possible. Cell reception can be spotty in a few areas, so it's truly a good getaway to unplug! Kitchen | Keeping the kitchen clean is of high priority to us. If you use it, please clean your dishes, and leave the kitchen as you found it. Recycling | The kitchen has labeled bins for placement of recyclables. Please rinse & drip dry any containers / cans / bottles & sort in their appropriate place. Energy | If you open any of the common area curtains, please close them when you leave the space. They help insulate! Waste | Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper in the toilets. Smoking | This is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not allowed in the room or common areas and we prefer that no one smoke on the property. If you wish to smoke, you may do so in your car or discreetly outdoors. Sauna | Please place a towel under you in the sauna to minimize wood staining from perspiration. Quiet | This is a quiet facility, generally speaking. No private music, radio, TV or noise should occur in the common areas unless everyone else is ok with it. We like to feel we can trust our guests and are unique in that we don't charge a security deposit. We appreciate you letting us know if any items break, get stains, or damage. After notifying us, we can quickly work something out.
