The Old Dairy: Rustic Mountain Cottage, Katoomba

Warm yourself by the fire at this rustic mountains cottage, only minutes away from Katoomba town centre, key Blue Mountains world heritage sites and attractions. The Old Dairy House is a 1920s historic cottage with recently updated kitchen, clawfoot bathtub, reverse cycle air-conditioning, fast WiFi internet, clothes wash & dryer. Ideal as a romantic getaway, a peaceful space to work on your next novel, or a cosy home base for exploring all the beautiful Blue Mountains region has to offer *NoTV The space Circa 1920, as the name suggests it used to be the house on one of Katoomba's dairy farms. The house has a rustic mountains charm, and is thoughtfully curated with a collection of antique pieces which reference its past as a dairy farm. Please note there is no TV at the house, but there is fast WiFi and plenty of books, magazines, puzzles and playing cards to make some special holiday memories with good friends and family. The house has an oversized wraparound veranda with a sofa for lazing away sunny afternoons with one of the many books that adorn the mantelpieces. For the cooler months we have electric heaters, hot water bottles and extra blankets in each bedroom, plus a split system air-conditioner and combustion wood fireplace in the lounge area which is super toasty once it gets going! The bedrooms have linen curtains which let in filtered light, as well as newly installed blockout blinds. Feel free to ask us for more details! Guest access House guests have access to the entire house, wraparound veranda and fenced front garden. Please note the house is attached (sharing one bedroom wall) to a self-contained studio flat, which is also listed separately on Airbnb. Other things to note One box of complimentary firewood, fire-starters and matches are provided during the winter months only. Additional bags of firewood and kindling are available from the Katoomba Bunnings or any of the service stations along the highway. Otherwise there is a split system air-conditioner in the main living room as well as portable electric heaters throughout the cottage to keep you toasty warm! Please also be aware there is NO TV in the house but there are plenty of good books, magazines, puzzles and fast WiFi internet to stream your favourite shows. Just bring your laptop or tablet! Please note the house is attached (sharing one bedroom wall) to a self-contained studio flat, which is also listed separately on Airbnb. There may be guests staying in the studio at the same time. House guests have access to the entire house, wraparound veranda and fenced front garden. Studio guests have their own private entry and use of the back deck and garden.
