Smith Island Inn: Geraldine's Getaway

Geraldine's Getaway is the largest of the guest rooms at the Smith Island Inn. The gracious room overlooks the gazebo, pergala, and rose garden. Other things to note Smith Island is the perfect get-away for the traveler looking for peace and quiet. The island is a working watermen's community. Our typical guests enjoy wildlife, walks along our tree lined streets, bicycling, kayaking, canoeing, reading, and relaxing. We have wrought iron chairs in the front yard that provide a relaxing background as guests enjoy talking to locals or sipping a glass of wine. A screened gazebo in the back of the property offers shade to enjoy quiet time or a catered meal. We have a picnic table in our rose garden for guest use. You may also want to take a spin on one of our tandem bicycles during your stay. Schedule a wildlife/rookery/ Island boat tour or a tranquil sunset cruise. Ask our innkeeper about the climate controlled historical tour. Dine at one of our restaurants known for fresh local seafood or order in for an intimidate quiet catered dinner. Bayside Inn, along with our Inn, were named one of Southern Living's Best places to enjoy crab in Maryland! Paddle to Tylerton for a visit to the Smith Island Crab Picking Co-Op or visit Drum Point Market for the best fries on the Island. Tylerton features the smallest United States post office and is the site of the last Maryland one room school house. The Inn is available along with our other property, Michele's House, on the Island and can provide the perfect get-away to accommodate family reunions, intimate weddings, and special interest groups (quilters, bird watchers, sea glass collectors, women's retreats, duck hunters, history buffs, etc.). Please inquire about our large group accommodations, We have the ability to sleep 20 (shared rooms with multiple beds/options with bunk beds/cots). Unfortunately guests cannot use kitchen stove due to insurance limitations.
