Stone cottages and farm buildings have been restored using traditional materials and techniques, and the Estate supports farming and encourages other rural activities. Various houses and cottages in scenic positions on the Estate are available for rent as holiday lets. Come and stay in one of them - and enjoy walking on the many miles of private woodland paths winding through the Estate. An historic three-storey Grade II stone holiday farmhouse dating from the 17th century, rescued from dereliction and sympathetically restored leading to an award from the Conwy Civic Society during 2009 for the restoration of the farmhouse. The property is situated high above the Eglwysbach valley, with fine pastoral views. It has many period features; two vaulted rooms, a two-storey room where the warmth of the animals was used to heat the farmhouse, exposed beams, wooden and slate floors, bread oven, etc. The separate annexe provides accommodation for two guests. Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Due to nearby livestock, please keep your pet under careful control. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request (please provide your own cot linen). Parts of the garden are on a slope, with steps and a level sitting area below the house, plus an eating terrace to one side of house. Fishing permits available from the Bodnant Garden Centre. Please note that access to the cottage is via a single country road and graded track across fields. Please be aware, due to the remote location, some mobile phone network providers may have limited signal. A starter basket of wood, kindling, firelighters and matches are provided on arrival. Further wood can be purchased locally at Bryn Mawr Farm Firewood. Further details are provided in the arrival guide. Guest access Ground Floor: Kitchen/utility With a gas range cooker, microwave, larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and small breakfast table with seating for four guests. Sitting room With a cosy wood burning stove, television with Freeview and DVD player. Dining room With dining table and seating for six guests. Lower Ground Floor: Bedroom three With twin 3' single beds, a vaulted ceiling and private bathroom. Study/sitting room With a door leading out to the garden and stairs up to the dining room. First Floor: Bedroom one With a 5' king size bed. Bedroom two With a 6' super-king size zip and link bed, which can be converted into twin 3' singles upon request. Bathroom With a shower over the bath, WC and wash basin. Annexe: With twin 3' single beds, an en-suite shower room with WC and wash basin. Tea-making facilities including a small kitchen sink and mini fridge. Outside: Enclosed garden with garden furniture and barbecue.
