Cottage in Cumbria
Description
Cosy, well equipped cottage with woodburning stove, situated just a short drive from the heart of the lakes in the small village of Underbarrow between Kendal and Windermere. There are walks from the door and a pub just a few minutes walk down the road serving excellent food. The space Orphan Crag Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in the village, dating back to the 17th century. We bought the cottage in 2013, renovating it to retain original features and traditional character whilst incorporating modern day comforts. The cottage has a large family sitting room, separate cosy dining room with wood burning stove and the newly refurbished kitchen complete with dish washer, fridge freezer and washing machine. Upstairs there are three bedrooms - two king size doubles and a twin - as well as the family bathroom with bath and separate shower. Outside the cottage has its own private garden with beautiful views across farmland with sheep and cattle. There is a picnic table and barbecue for outside dining. Guest access NO PETS. Orphan Crag is a holiday cottage only - no contractors or workmen. Other things to note Parking is in the road where there is space for a maximum of two cars (no vans).
