Description

Discover a hidden gem just minutes from Shaver Lake AND Huntington Lake! The clean and inviting Shadrack Cabin sleeps up to 6 guests in a studio room with plenty of natural light! The cabin is situated in the heart of Camp Sierra – a 100-year-old family-friendly community of privately owned cabins and campground lodges overlooking the scenic Big Creek Canyon. The space Enjoy a weekend (or a whole week at 25% off!) in this off-the-beaten-path slice of paradise tucked away in the Sierra National Forest. Walk out your front door to access family-and-dog-friendly hiking trails with stunning canyon views, or drive 10 minutes to get to Shaver Lake. Within a few hundred feet of your front door, you’ll also have access to a children’s playground, ping-pong tables, a sports field, and a basketball hoop. Also within walking distance is a natural wading pool (great for small kids!) and a waterfall with natural granite water slides (great for big kids!). You’ll also be right next to the trailhead for the ¾-mile hike down to The Potholes, a series of naturally formed pools fed by Big Creek that are connected to each other by gentle waterfalls. The famous Potholes provide endless hours of sliding, jumping, swimming and fishing! The Shadrack Cabin is the perfect place to get away from it all with friends or family. The cabin, which is part of a duplex, features 3 bunkbeds (with a full bed on the bottom of one of them), a full bathroom, and a comfortable sitting area with a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom has separate entrances for the shower and toilet, making it convenient for families. If you’re not familiar with the area, here’s a great tip: On summer weekends, Shaver Lake can get crowed. Thankfully, at Meshack Cabin, you’ll be less than 20 minutes from the much more secluded (and even more beautiful!) Huntington Lake, where you can rent boats, kayaks, paddleboards, and enjoy a burger and beer on the deck overlooking the lake at The Grill restaurant. You’re also less than 30 minutes from China Peak Ski Resort and less than 20 minutes from publicly accessible snow parks (at 7,000 feet elevation) where’s there’s snow all winter long. Guest access Camp Sierra is located near the town of Shaver Lake, in the Sierra National Forest. It is just a 4-mile drive to Shaver Lake Marina, 12 miles to Huntington Lake, and 19 miles to China Peak Ski Resort. Some of the area attractions include: • Shaver Stable • Shaver Lake Watersports • The Museum of the Central Sierra • Southern CA Edison Big Creek Hydroelectric Power House • Mono Hot Springs • McKinley Grove/Dinkey Creek • Rancheria Falls Hike • Endless off-road vehicle terrain • Plethora of fishing streams/lakes • Hiking galore!
