The location is a twitchers and wildlife lovers dream, with birds such as kingfishers, woodpeckers and birds of prey often seen and heard. Enjoy 19.5 acres of private woodland that your free to roam around whilst you stay at our Sussex piece of heaven. Relax to calls of nature and tranquillity during your evening, whilst enjoying a warm toasty fire from our firepit (wood provided). Guest access Access to the pod is down a farm track down (can be bumpy). Private parking is on a road directly behind the glamping pod within the woodland. There are walking routes around the pod at the private Bitham wood. On top of this there are many wonderful walks from the site, such as: Nymans Gardens (National Trust) which takes you to the cute village of Handcross (approximately 50 minutes each way). A walk to the commuter village of Balcombe (45 minutes way). And lastly straight South down to the hamlet of Staplefield with its two pubs (35 minutes each way). Maps showing the routes are kept in the pod. Further afield, the towns of Haywards Heath and Horsham provide a range of lovely pubs, bars and restaurants, along with all general amenities. The coastal city of Brighton is a 25 minute drive from the pod, along with the South Downs National Park. Other things to note The site is highly remote, with no shops within general walking distance. There is lots of uneven terrain so adequate footwear is recommended. There is no oven, but there is a gas hob. Whilst it is possible to reach the site walking from the nearest train station (Balcombe), we recommend driving to the site. The pod is solar powered and as a result high energy items cannot be used, for example hair dryers, straighteners, fans etc. Pets can be brought but for an additional fee. Pod is present on a working farm and as a result agricultural/forestry activities such as woodland management, tractor work, etc may ongoing in the area at any time.
