Perched above a brook in the woods. See the seasons fold and unfold in 50 acres of private forest, waterfalls, & pond. Fall asleep to sounds of the creek below. Wake to a canopy of beams, dappled sunshine, breakfast on a screened porch. Respite, creativity, and play (hike, sledding, 5 minutes from Mohawk Mtn Skiing). Hand built, inspired by Japanese teahouses, featuring tongue & groove construction, shoji screen doors, & tatami mats. Video: "Cornwall Hollow Teahouse" on YT or IG The space High ceiling living space with Japanese tea table, wood stove, and sitting area. Wrap-around porch with screened in sitting area. A large bedroom with King-sized bed and full sized dresser. Second bedroom features a single bed beside a large circle window and tatami mats. This space can either be utilized as a meditation space or a sleeping space. Third bedroom is a loft bedroom located via a ladder above the bathroom (se photo). Kitchen features a 2-burner cooktop, small refrigerator, a microwave/convection oven, and is fully equipped with cookware. Each room In the cellar below, there is a washer, dryer, and full-sized refrigerator and freezer. Full-sized bathroom with a jacuzzi bathtub and rain shower head. In addition to the wood stove, each room has its own thermostat. Extra single futons are available upon request. 50 acres of private land including waterfalls Tennis/Basketball Court Swimming Pond Shared Property with Main House of Owner Organic Garden and orchard. Guest access The Tea House is situated below a long moss-covered driveway and stone-step pathway. In the winter, when there is excessive snow and ice, parking is requested nearer to the road to avoid getting stuck. Access to the cottage may not be suitable for people with physical disabilities. No wheelchair access. Other things to note While there is Wifi, cell phone reception is very limited on the property. There is a landline in the Tea House available for local calls. Due to COVID19 we have kept a 24 hour block on bookings after each stay and a thorough cleaning and disinfection to optimize guest safety.
