Ocean View Retreat in a Quiet Fishing Village

This is a private, whole-house guesthouse located in the quiet fishing village of Nigishima, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture. On the way to Nigishima, you’ll be greeted by the deep blue ocean known as “Kumano Blue,” and the house sits overlooking the calm waters of Nigishima Bay. To reach the house, you will need to climb approximately 50 steps (about a 5-minute walk), but a beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere await you at the top. The space [1F Kitchen (approx. 14㎡)] The kitchen is equipped with basic appliances, cookware, tableware, and seasonings. Coffee, tea, and rice are provided free of charge. Instant meals are available for an additional fee (¥200 each). [1F Living & Dining Area (approx. 14㎡)] For groups of 4 guests, two futons will be prepared in the tatami area on the first floor. [Bathroom & Toilet] Western-style toilet and a shower room with a bathtub are available. Please note: the space is relatively compact. [2F Bedroom (approx. 14㎡)] The bedroom features a comfortable mattress bed and a sofa made by Kashiwa Mokko. [2F Balcony] Relax in an infinity chair while enjoying the beautiful ocean view of Nigishima. [1F Terrace] BBQ equipment is available (charcoal ¥600). Not available during winter (December–February). [Other Amenities] Washing machine with drying function available / Air-drying on the terrace is also possible Other things to note [Please read before booking] (1) There are no restaurants or convenience stores in Nigishima. We recommend this stay to guests who can enjoy the simplicity and remoteness of the area. (2) There is a steep staircase of approximately 50 steps (about a 5-minute walk) to reach the house. Handrails are partially available, but guests with limited mobility should take extra care. (3) The house can accommodate up to 4 guests; however, the main bed is for 2 guests only. For groups of 4, 2 guests will sleep on futons laid out in the tatami area on the first floor (approx. 3 tatami mats). (4) The bathtub and toilet are compact in size. Please be aware if you require more spacious facilities. (5) Due to the natural surroundings, insects such as mosquitoes, bees, and stink bugs may be present depending on the season. Please be careful when opening windows, as insects may enter the house. This stay is not recommended for guests who are uncomfortable with insects. (6) Please do not take any items from the house. (7) Only registered guests are allowed to stay. This may be verified by the security camera at the entrance. (8) We are not liable for any accidents or injuries that may occur during your stay.
