Spacious and cosy cottage in Luddenden village

Carr Cottage is a characterful 19th century mill workers' dwelling situated in the heart of the Pennines in the beautiful Luddenden Valley with a multitude of walks and footpaths. Close to Halifax and its historic Piece Hall or Hebden Bridge with its vibrant arts and crafts scene. We are dog friendly with excellent walks for dogs and their people. Dogs must not be left unattended on the during your stay. Carr Cottage is cycle friendly with classic road or off road routes right rom the doorstep. The space Totally renovated with all new fixtures, fittings and furnishing to launch in Sept 2021. With more than a nod to its past, retaining its character of a mill workers' cottage we have brought it right up to contemporary standards. There is a large open plan living/kitchen area on the ground floor and two spacious bedrooms upstairs, each with a super comfortable king size bed. The one in the attic can be separated into 2 small singles if requested at the time of booking. At the rear of the house is a small space, accessed from the first floor, for you to sit out and relax. Looks out over the host's extensive garden. Guest access There is a bus stop right outside the house with a regular service to Halifax or connecting at Luddendenfoot with buses to Hebden Bridge. There is no parking space on the property. Free on street parking throughout the village although there is nowhere to park directly by the house. Hebden Bridge railway station is 15 mins taxi ride. Frequent services to/fromYork/Leeds/Manchester/Preston. The house is perfectly placed for walking and cycling with some fantastic routes starting right at the doorstep. Other things to note Cyclists, you can bring your bikes into the house for security or use the attached stone shed (at your own risk) The staircase is steep and access to the sitting out area is down some steps from the first floor. Parking is on street and not directly adjacent. There is a small walled garden which leads out directly onto the road with no footpath. Therefore the cottage may not suit those less steady on their feet. These aspects, plus unguarded stairs and stove means that it is not suitable for younger children.
