- CLOSE TO THE COAST! - Self-catering - Private & secluded hot tub - Pets Welcome (for extra fee) - Private entrance & parking - 15/20 min’s walk to the village pub & Rhoscolyn Beach; 5 by car - Anglesey Coastal Path easily accessible from the doorstep. - Robes, slippers, towels & toiletries provided - Power shower - Pretty countryside & garden views - 10 min’s drive to Trearddur Bay; 30/40 on foot. NB We also advertise a 2 bedroom cottage next door. For details: www.airbnb.com/h/tycapel The space *PETS - We welcome pets for an extra fee. Please add them to your booking by following the Airbnb prompts on your booking page. - Maximum 3 x small/medium sized dogs or x 2 large dogs. - However, any pets after the first one (which costs £30, irrespective of your length of stay) must be paid for as an extra whilst you’re with us - and will cost £5 (total) each. We accept cash or card. - Please don’t try to turn up with any undeclared pets, as we’ll definitely notice and it’ll just embarrass everyone concerned! 🙏😘 - The pet-price is mostly to cover the extra time it takes to clean the accommodation afterwards - and, believe us, it really does take a lot longer! As not all our guests are pet-owners, it’s very important we make sure there are no tell-tell pet signs left, whatsoever! Thank you for your understanding on this matter. 🙏 The Accommodation: Ty Cert is a pretty seaside inspired double room and part of a charming Grade II listed property. It has lovely countryside & garden views, an en-suite WC with power-shower, sofa and kitchenette area too. Tri-folding doors give you a large private entrance - plus access to the shared garden and your private hot-tub area. There's a TV and (good) WiFi connection available as well. The kitchenette area includes a sink, kettle, toaster, fridge (with mini freezer), microwave, mini convection oven with double hob - as well as crockery, utensils and cooking pans etc: basically everything you'd need for a stress-free stay. We have extra room in another freezer if needed. NB Your outdoor areas won’t be shared with our other guests (who have their own garden areas) but my husband and I sometimes have to walk past Ty Cert to get to our shed - however, we only do this if it’s absolutely necessary! The hot tub area is screened off and for your use only. There are 2 seating areas just outside your room, one in the top garden and in the parking area as well. The hot tub is located on the decked area just beyond the pond in front of your accommodation. Important! Bedding, towels & robes are are all provided - however, for the foreseeable future we’re asking our guests to strip the bed and to put the towels and linen in a bag provided before departing. You should find a laundry bag in the wardrobe - otherwise, ask us for one - or just leave it on the sofa before you go. Many thanks. Hand-soap, body wash, shampoo, washing-up liquid, cleaning products, loo-roll, tea, coffee and sugar etc will all be provided too - but those staying longer might want to bring extra supplies. Please be aware that some local shops, pubs & cafes may well still be closed due to the pandemic - or have limited opening hours/tables - so booking in advance is highly recommended - especially during school holidays and weekends. Organising a supermarket delivery for here is fine by us! There are lots of supermarkets in Holyhead (approx. 4 miles away) and smaller grocery stores in nearby Valley and Trearddur Bay (approx. 2 miles away). Please be aware that we live on site and sometimes have to walk past your room on the outside. Also, that there may well be guests in our other on site rental too (although they have a separate outdoor area). Children & pets must be under adult supervision at all times. If you’re a Covid denier or vaccine sceptic we suggest you stay at home. Guest access You’re welcome to use the seating area just outside your room - as well as the one in the “top” garden. When we have guests here these areas are just for you. The screened-off hot tub area is exclusively for your enjoyment. As owners who live on site, we sometimes have to walk past your outdoor seating areas - although we do try to keep this to a minimum - but we have a private outdoor area of our own - as do the guests in our other rental property - so it shouldn’t affect you too much. Other things to note Being part of the main property there is a little noise transference between Ty Cert and our house next door. Nothing major, but the floor-joists in this Grade II building mean we can never get rid of it completely. We are alway sensitive to this and ask the same in return! A public footpath passes through the parking area. We Live here and there is another rental property on site. Please don't leave your pets alone in the room - and please pick-up after them outside! Please don't allow dogs on the bed unless you've brought your own coverslip! Nothing other than pee, poo & paper down the loo! We have a septic tank so need to be particularly careful about what goes down the pipes! It also needs to stay ‘septic’ - hence the ban on bleach. Any major problems with blockages will need to be paid for! Please sort out your rubbish and recycling before you depart. Absolutely no recycling in the kitchen bin or black bins. We only get our black bins emptied every 3 weeks so it’s imperative that you don’t fill them up with recycling; it’s also bad for the environment! You’ll find the black bins in the green bin store down the alleyway - and recycling boxes in the taller green shed right next to them. Leave the composting bin for us to deal with. HOT TUB - GENERAL INFORMATION The hot tub will be freshly filled and treated on the morning of your arrival. We use environmentally friendly products instead of chlorine. Because of the time needed to empty, clean, refill, treat and heat the hot tub, it will usually be up to the correct temperature by approximately 5-6pm on the day of your arrival. Because of the time needed to empty, clean, refill, treat and heat the hot tub between guests, we usually begin this process at 10am on the morning of your departure day. We’ll demonstrate how to access the hot tub, remove the cover and operate the jets/lights soon after your arrival. We’ll also make sure you know where the main isolator power switch is in case you need to power off in an emergency. DO NOT use this to turn the hot tub off or power off unnecessarily as this will stop the heater from working and the tub will cool down. The cover must always be replaced when not in use - to maintain the temperature and ensure safety. HOT TUB RULES & REGULATIONS Guests MUST shower before using the hot tub to ensure the removal of oils & perfumes that can affect water clarity and chemical balance. No seawater or sand either! Seriously, DO NOT GET INTO THE HOT TUB WEARING FAKE TAN, MAKE UP OR BODY CREAMS ETC. THIS CAN CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE FILTRATION SYSTEM - WHICH IN TURN CAN CAUSE IT TO BE CLOSED TO YOU OR THE NEXT GUESTS - which you’ll be charged for! Guests should also shower after using the hot tub. We don’t mind if you want to have a drink in there - but please be mindful of your safety at all times! Be very mindful of alcohol use in particular! Remember, heat and booze don’t always mix well! Basically, hot tubs cause blood vessels to dilate which in turn causes blood pressure to rise. This means that alcohol gets into your blood stream faster and circulates faster too - which obviously has a greater effect than normal! The heat of the tub and alcohol combined can also cause dehydration and possible heat exhaustion. If you feel any of the following symptoms get out of the tub immediately: Light headed, dizzy, nausea, rapid heartbeat, faint or fatigue, headache, extreme sweating. Medication can further dehydrate you and cause balance issues. If you have a health condition, speak with a health professional for advice beforehand. THE SAME FOR THOSE WHO ARE PREGNANT! DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB IF YOU HAVE SKIN, EAR, GENITAL OR OTHER BODY INFECTIONS, OPEN SORES, WOUNDS OR COVID19. AT NO POINT SHOULD THE HOT TUB BE USED IF YOU SUFFER FROM THE ABOVE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE SPREAD OF INFECTION, IRRITATE YOUR CONDITION FURTHER AND CONTAMINATE THE HOT TUB FACILITY! Keep hydrated by drinking water before and after a hot tub session; this can help reduce dizziness and nausea. Plastic glasses are provided for use in and around the hot tub! Please DO NOT TAKE GLASS RECEPTACLES INTO THE HOT TUB! However, SHOULD a glass be broken in there - IMMEDIATELY vacate it and turn off the jets if they’re running. Please report this to us ASAP so it can be dealt with - but understand we won’t be impressed! Children must be supervised at all times! Hot tubs are not recommended for children under 5. DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB CONTINUOUSLY FOR HOURS AT A TIME. This is first and foremost not good for your health and, secondly, running the pumps and leaving the lid open for longer will result in temperature loss and deterioration of water quality. Recommended guidelines suggest that you should use a hot tub for 15 to 30 minutes at a time with a maximum of 45 minutes at any one time. It’s also recommended that you sit down calmly until you get used to the temperate charge when you first get out. Watch your step! Slips, trips and falls are common on wet surfaces! No running when wet underfoot. A mat has been provided at the entrance to the hot tub to avoid these slip hazards: please use it! Please dry yourselves off before going indoors. No major drips or wet feet inside! Use the washable slippers, towels and robes provided. No smoking or eating in the hot tub - but you’re fine to smoke & eat in the area otherwise. Feel free to use the hot tub at anytime - however, in consideration to the neighbouring properties, please don’t use the jets before 11am and after 10pm - with no music to be played before/after these times either. We also ask that voices be kept down after 10pm as well. Also, in regards to music/conversation generally: please keep it chilled (i.e. no trash metal) and at a reasonable volume at all times! Thank you for your cooperation. The cover must always be replaced when not in use to maintain temperature and ensure safety. AT NO POINT MUST ANYONE WALK ON THE HOT TUB COVER. This is both for your safety and to ensure no damage to the cover itself. Many thanks 😊
