Guest access Private room accommodations at 1807 Williams Home property have access to a private bedroom, private bathroom, shared 1st floor living room, kitchen (light use), shared yard and shared parking. You will receive full check-in instructions 4 days before your arrival date. You will receive your Schlage lock keypad code 24 hours before arrival and you'll have a flexible check-in time. Your room door has a lock and your key will be in your room upon arrival. Like many of the homes in historical villages, there is no garage. The Williams Home guests have three parking spots in our driveway, one for each private room, and the Smith Cottage guests have two. Additional parking is available behind our property at the church lot or Haley's Way Park. You have access to the shared parking, shared yard, your private guest room, private bathroom, and light use of the shared kitchen space. Help yourself to the microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and of course, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. Please note you use the side door opposite the driveway- on the other side of the house. You will walk between the main house and Smith Cottage on the gravel path to access the other side door, which faces the red property next door. ***Please don't try to use the side on the driveway side with the stone steps- this is a private door entrance for the Cordage Suite guests only.*** During your stay My husband and I live in Mystic, an 8-minute drive from the 1807 Williams Home property. Even though you are set up for self-check-in, you may see one of us stop by to water outside plants if you are staying for more than a few days or bring the garbage cans out to the street if you are staying over on a Wednesday night. Don't worry- we are harmless and have the utmost respect for your privacy, so it's more likely you won't see us unless requested:)! If you seek answers, like suggestions, or even meet us, we are here for you and delight in sharing this lovely little village with visitors! We are available to help make your stay a perfect one! Other things to note PROPERTY TRUTHS The Williams Home & Smith Cottage property is on Main Street on a bustling corner at a 3-way stop sign across Holly Hock Antiques and the Old Mystic Post Office. It's busy with road noise during the day but a quiet and peaceful hamlet in the evenings. The Cooperage bathroom is detached (across the back hallway from your room), but it is a private bathroom and only for your use. Outdoor spaces and parking are shared with guests staying in the Williams Home main house and the Smith Cottage behind. As the Williams Home is circa 1807, the floorboards are wide and do move and creak a bit, but I think you'll appreciate how it adds to the charm and character of an antique home. With wooden homes, sometimes doors stick and need a push or a pull, as wood naturally expands and contracts with the New England weather. Original glass windows can be drafty in the wintertime. There may be other guests staying at the Williams home during your stay, so I ask that all guests respect each other's space and use quiet voices as this is an antique home and the walls are not soundproof.
