Description
This secluded geodesic dome is nestled in a rare desert oasis about 15 minutes from the entrance to Zion National Park! Enjoy the sounds of the Virgin River just feet away as you rest on a comfy bed after a long hike through The Narrows or sleep well in preparation for the ascent to Angels Landing. If you love being immersed in nature while still having the convenience of electricity and the comfort of home, this is the place for you to be! This really is glamping at its finest! The space This peaceful space is designed to be run entirely by an off-grid solar system while prioritizing comfort. Your dome has a private parking spot off the shared road with a trail leading to your dome and property section. There's a small sandy area before you reach your private porch where you can relax and enjoy the views of the Virgin River and some peaks in Zion. Inside the dome is a queen-sized bed with two small nightstands on either side, each equipped with lamps and outlet blocks with USB connections. You'll find two hanging chairs, a cabinet with two towels and supplies for coffee, a Keurig, a microwave, and a full-sized mirror. We have also installed privacy curtains for the clear panels at the front of the dome. Our pellet stoves are installed and supplied with pellets and an electric blanket made into your bedding during winter. Our domes do not have A/C during the summer, but they are built on deck material and have a ceiling fan to help circulate the air. We do not have cooking or eating utensils or mini-fridges; however, guests can bring their camp stoves to cook on the porch. We typically see guests use a disposable or reusable cooler with ice from local markets and gas stations. A few feet away from your dome, you will find a shared bathroom building with your own bathroom stall, a top-of-the-line composting toilet with directions, hand sanitizer, and a modern outdoor shower that keeps you engaged in the desert nature without sacrificing your privacy. Our property has three unique stays: two geodesic domes within 100 feet of each other with a shared bathroom building and one shipping container tiny home about 300 feet at the south of the property. They're all tucked into their pockets of desert foliage so that all stays have privacy. You can expect some noise from vehicles on the main highway, the sound of other guests coming through our gate on the property, and their vehicles driving on the shared road. Because of the limited space between the main road and the river, our roads are narrow, and we built our parking spots to occupy two smaller vehicles. Any larger work trucks, sprinter vans, small RVs, or trailers/trailer beds will be challenging to navigate on the property. If your vehicle or travel equipment is large, we ask that you park it on the sandy pull-off before the gate and then go down to your stay. If you are unsure about your vehicle's size or ability to navigate, please reach out to us and let us know! We can help you with that. We wanted to keep this property as natural as possible, so your stay will be surrounded by natural desert foliage and native desert habitats. It is common to see native desert insects and small wildlife like desert mice, rabbits, desert geckos, and toads on the property. We do our best to take preventative measures to keep them away from your stay, and keeping your food in your vehicles will help keep unexpected visitors out of your dome. Guest access Guests are welcome to walk around the shared road on the property; however, we ask everyone to be mindful and respectful of other people’s private spaces. Guests are welcome to find access to the river next to their stay, but please use your best judgment when safely enjoying the river. Please stay in your designated area and off the bank/land on the opposite side of the river. Other things to note We DO NOT have A/C in the dome. Our domes are built on deck material to create airflow with the ceiling fan in the dome. Towards the end of the day, the air starts to cool down pretty quickly when the sun goes behind the west mountain. Drinking water: Guests must bring their own drinking water supply. We have water on the property for the showers; however, it is carried by a water truck and stored in our tanks, so it is not potable. Cell service is either spotty or unavailable to some carriers on the property and the surrounding area. We advise guests to screenshot or save all check-in directions and instructions, as well as Wi-Fi information, before their arrival. NO FIRES - NO SMOKING: our property is surrounded by dry desert foliage. One spark can leave a devastating impact.
