Perched on the hillside with an expansive view of the forested hills and distant glittering Pacific Ocean, this magnificent three-bedroom home is yours to enjoy! A large swimming pool, private forest trails and a beautiful indoor fireplace are just a few of the special features of this truly special home. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended to reach the villa, and due to the design of the house, we cannot accept bookings with young children. Villa Bella Vista is a stunning three-bedroom home a short distance from the colourful villages of Tinamastes and Platanillo, and a 30-minute drive to the vibrant community of Dominical on the gorgeous Pacific coast. The climate is cool, thanks to its elevation, and the tranquility of the area makes this property a rare place to nourish the soul. It offers breathtaking sea and jungle views. The WiFi signal is strong and reliable, however please bear in mind we are in a rural area and the occasional outage is unavoidable. There is cellular signal at the house so data can also be used. The upper level of the villa features a capacious open plan kitchen, luxuriously appointed, with modern appliances and two large refrigerators. Also on the upper level is a sitting and dining area with a fabulous fireplace – ideal for those cozy nights when the mist rolls in off the hills. The open-air patio is the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful view (bella vista!). The sunsets over the ocean are quite spectacular! Kick back and keep an eye out for toucans and other exquisite birds found in the area. The patio has a guest toilet and a gas barbecue range. There is also a fridge/freezer on the outside deck and direct access to the pool area. The three spacious bedrooms are located on the floor below and all come with modern en-suite bathrooms. There is plenty of hot water in all bedrooms. Soak up the lovely views from the huge master bedroom, which has its own patio plus a bathtub in addition to a large shower. The comfortable rooms can accommodate six guests. All have separate lockable doors accessing the balcony that runs around the house. On this level, there is also a separate television and games room, complete with a smart television for access to Netflix etc. The villa's magnificent swimming pool has a waterfall feature and a gazebo with pool loungers and deck chairs – great for unwinding and bird watching! There is undercover parking from which the house can be accessed and a gym on the ground floor which guests are free to use at their leisure. The large garden, which includes five hectares of private forest, is yours to enjoy. Guests are welcome to walk the peaceful trails and try to spot some of our more exotic residents – from the dancing red-capped manakin to the shy three-toed sloth. The trails are steep in some areas, and can become muddy depending on the weather - we do not recommend walking the trails if you are not confident in difficult terrain. There is outdoor parking and one undercover parking bay available for guests. You will have keys and be able to enter and exit the property as you wish. We live in the apartment below the main house and are always available to answer any questions. We are happy to provide recommendations or assistance in arranging excursions, making bookings and so on. We are off the beaten path in a quiet rural area, with the village of Tinamastes a short drive away. A small grocery store and several good restaurants can be found in Tinamastes, as well as in the village of Platanillo, a little further down the mountain. The city of San Isidro de El General is approximately a 25 minute drive and has many shopping and restaurant options, in addition to wonderful fresh produce markets. The Villa is approximately a four hour drive from San Jose airport. The house is located off the main road, and as such we recommend 4x4 for accessing the property.
