Escape to the East River in Mathews County, Virginia in our cozy coastal cottage nestled in the back of our 3.5 acres of waterfront property. Haddie James House is a quick 15 minutes to downtown Mathews and 20 minutes to Gloucester Courthouse. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. A cozy, yet fully equipped kitchen has ample space for meal preparation or treat yourself at one of the dining establishments that Mathews has to offer. Delivery available by some. Step out of the kitchen and onto the side porch where there is seating for 2-4. Catch a water breeze, kickback at the firepit or enjoy the open side yard. Bathroom has a tub/shower and one vanity. The main bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and comfortable leather chair for lounging. The additional bedroom has two single beds. Plenty of closet space. Guests can enjoy dock and pool access. Pool opens May 1. Guest use of the boat and boat lift are NOT permitted. Kayaks are available for guest use. Guest access Our neighborhood is great for bike riding and walking. Any stores or restaurants will require a drive. Parking space for two cars directly to the right of the cottage. An hour drive to Williamsburg, Jamestown, Hampton Roads or Richmond areas. 1.5 hour drive to Virginia Beach. Other things to note Must love dogs!! Our two large, friendly family dogs live on the property. While you have the cottage to yourself and there is a dedicated yard space, please keep in mind that owners and pets are on property. The property is sprayed for mosquitos and ticks, but they may still be present at times as we are in a rural area. Please message me with any specific questions.
