Supermarket (Carrefour Market) 15 min walk away Other things to note We found this house somewhat by chance and without really looking in 2014. We lived in Geneva at the time, it was the perfect place for holidays and extended weekends. The Mediterranean climate with its olive trees and laurels away from tourist attractions. The Cévennes, its forests and rivers. We have since moved to near Berlin and decided to rent out our home on Airbnb. Beyond the obviously welcome financial benefits, we are delighted to be able to share our slice of paradise. We hope that our guests will enjoy the area and come back, that they will feel – and behave – like they are "at home". As we are not on site, we will not be able to receive them. The person who will receive them specializes in tourism and is a great connoisseur of the region. Bessèges has seen better days (according to Wikipedia: "it had 2,835 inhabitants in 2019, after experiencing a population peak of 11,404 inhabitants in 1881") and this is not where you will find tourist shops, or stiff cafes. Tourists are a welcome source of income, so don't hesitate to go to the butcher or greengrocer on Rue de la République, to go for a coffee (or other) in one of the cafes on the same street, or to go to the wine shop opposite the crossroads.
