The JT Rockhouse

The Rockhouse is a unique stone cabin in North Joshua Tree, 2 miles from the National Park Visitor Center and downtown Joshua Tree. Aside from being extremely romantic, it has a decades-long history as a creative space for artists, musicians and climbers. Gather, dine, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the high desert! Licensed STR, Permit #7759 The space The Rockhouse has 2 private bedrooms - one large room with 2 queen beds and one cozy stone room with 1 queen bed. There is also an all-stone open area with 2 additional beds - a full and a twin. There is 1 full bathroom with a magical sunken tub/shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric range and double sink. A cozy living room with sectional couch, smart-TV and large book collection sits in the middle of the house, just off the kitchen. Super-fast internet. A 4-zone whole-house mini split heat/AC unit maintains comfortable inside temperatures year-round. Outside, there are several private hang spaces, with options for sun/shade, dining, etc. A cowboy tub (cooling pool) sits in the bed of a 1966 Ford flatbed truck on the property (closed in winter). Guest access There are 4 dedicated parking spaces inside the gated entry. The neighborhood is old and established and has a mix of long-term residents and rentals. Other things to note The Rockhouse is a wonderful, private place to unplug and relax. If you want to venture out, downtown Joshua Tree offers great dining, shopping and sightseeing. The West entrance of the National Park is 15 minutes away, where adventure awaits and beauty abounds. To the East, about a 15 minute drive away, the Indian Cove campground and Rattlesnake Canyon are great alternatives to going into the Park. The Bartlett Mountains, a 1 mile walk to the west, offer secluded, easy hiking trails and views of the National Park. Please keep in mind that the Cowboy tub is not a heated unit. It is a cooling pool Pet Policy- We do allow up to 2 small/medium sized non-shedding dogs at the house for an additional $50 per night pet fee. We do not allow cats unfortunately. Please keep in mind the desert is not always a pet friendly place and the property is quite large, please do not let your pups roam unattended! We also kindly ask that they stay off the furniture as pet hair is very difficult to remove. If we are unable to remove all of the hair after washing we will unfortunately have to charge for a new set of linens and/or throw pillows/blankets. Any damage including but not limited to excessive hair, urine stains and chewed items will be charged an additional cleaning fee and/or replacement fee where necessary.
